The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

This week we will celebrate the second week of Advent with our beautiful Lessons and Carols concert on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. Thank you to our 5th - 8th grade choir students for sharing their gifts of musical talent with our community. Our select choir was also invited to perform last evening at the Muirfield Village Country Club to spread Advent and Christmas joy in our local community. Our wonderful band students performed at the annual Christmas band concert at Watterson High School last week and well represented our amazing school band program. We can be proud and thankful for our young people and their leaders for sharing their musical talents bringing joy to so many!

All are invited to attend the parish Taize prayer service on Tuesday, December 17th at 6:30 pm. I hope that you will come with your children to this one-hour prayer service held in the church. The church is transformed for this service with lighting and candles creating a welcoming and meditative environment. Please come as a family and spend a restful and prayerful hour in the presence of the Lord with our parish family.

Keep in mind next week on Friday, December 20th we will end the day with a prayer service in the gym at 12:45 pm followed by early release at 1:30 pm. Please join us if your schedule allows.

Planning ahead to February, please “Save the Date” of February 23, 2020 for a special Sunday CARE family Mass at 12:15 pm followed by a social and service event. More details to come in January.

May the blessings of Advent be yours,

Kathy O'Reilly

Pope Francis 50th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood
Pray for our Holy Father on the 50th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood on Friday, December
13. We thank him for his many years of faithful service to the Church and for his witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Father of mercy,
we come before you with gratitude
for the fifty years of priesthood of Pope Francis,
whom you have made Peter’s successor.
Support him with the Spirit’s gifts,
so that he can continue to preach the Gospel with priestly zeal
and lead the Church with wisdom and strength and courage.
May his example of long and faithful service
be an inspiration to your priests and to all your faithful.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Advent Family Prayer
Dear God, thank you for giving us
these four weeks to prepare to celebrate
the birth of your Son.

We are so thankful for all the people
that help us along this path we're traveling
to welcome Jesus.

God, bless our family and prepare our home
and hearts to welcome your Son,
Jesus Christ, into the world.

AMEN.
Gifts of Gratitude
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!

Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Amy Creekmur ([email protected]) or Nancy Davis ([email protected]) and they will let you know!
