The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,
As we journey through this blessed season of Advent, we have experienced countless opportunities to reflect, serve, and give thanks. It has been a season filled with prayer, joy, and community. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff and parent volunteers who organized an incredible St. Nicholas Day celebration, brimming with fun and acts of generous service—truly embodying the spirit of Saint Nicholas.
Music has also been a meaningful part of our Advent preparations. Earlier this week, our 5th-8th grade band students presented a wonderful musical program. Next week, on December 17th at 7:00 p.m., our 5th-8th grade choir students will share their talents in a beautiful Lessons and Carols concert at the church. We warmly invite all families to join us for this special evening. Additionally, members of our choir will bring their music to the wider community, performing at Muirfield Country Club this week and offering a cheerful morning greeting with their singing at the front door on Friday.
This Thursday, we will celebrate the season with a festive Green Day! Students and staff are invited to enjoy a green dress-down day, enjoy a special green-themed lunch, and meet a special "green guest" who will join us for the occasion.
Wishing you and your families continued Advent blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Illumi-NITE & Service Projects on St. Nicholas Day
This past Friday, we celebrated St. Nicholas Day at school. On this day, we remember St. Nicholas as a dedicated servant of God and a protector of those in need.
After St. Nicholas visited the school and dropped off candy canes for our students, the whole school worked on different service projects to give back to those in our community.
Our 8th, 4th and 3rd graders worked together to prepare for Illumi-NITE by decorating luminary bags, posters, and prayer cards with prayerful and uplifting messages. Our 1st and 5th graders worked together to decorate flower pots which were then filled with handprint poinsettias created by our Kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 7th graders. These were given to our local Dublin Retirement facility and St. Brigid's 55 Plus Club.
Then on Sunday evening, 15 members of our parish or school community were surprised as their homes were illuminated with messages of hope! Students from our 8th grade class gathered with their families on Sunday evening to Illumi-NITE houses in central Ohio. The message of "Keep Going" was displayed in 15 of our parish and/or school families' yards, along with luminary bags decorated with prayerful messages from the rest of our student body. The Illumi-NITE project spreads joy to others by placing luminary displays at the homes of people in need of support and love. Students prayed for the recipients and the bags were blessed by Deacon Paul before being delivered.
We appreciate the Home and School organization partnering with us to purchase all the materials needed for this service project. Many thanks to the army of parent volunteers that helped assemble all the poinsettias and flower pots!
Together, St. Brigid of Kildare School was able to spread our "Seeds of Hope" to many in our community.

Gifts of Gratitude - Teacher & Staff Appreciation Gifts
Get ahead on your Christmas gift giving this year!
Make your life easier by checking one thing off your Christmas gift list! Donate to Gifts of Gratitude! Home & School has provided you with a convenient way to show your appreciation to the teachers and staff at St. Brigid during Christmas and at the end of the year.
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child’s life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use–whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family’s expenses.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.
How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!
Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Ana Sotillo (sinramsotillo@gmail.com) or Renee Luis (reneeluis7@gmail.com) and they will let you know!
You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.
