Choir Students Share Their Voices at Muirfield Village Candlelight Dinners
Last week, choir student volunteers from 6-8th grade performed twice for the Muirfield Country Club and their guests at their Candlelight Dinner. The evenings were filled with lots of Christmas joy, classic carols, and singing with the spirit of Christmas! Our students sang beautifully and represented our school with grace and professionalism. Congratulations to these students!
We are grateful to Ms. Roberts for coordinating this meaningful experience and to Muirfield Village Golf Club for welcoming our students. Opportunities like these allow our students to grow in confidence, represent our school with pride, and use their gifts to enrich the broader community.

Introducing the Athletic Ministry Committee (AMC)
St. Brigid of Kildare Parish is blessed with a vibrant and growing athletics program, supported for many years by dedicated volunteers who have given their time and talent to our children. As our programs continue to expand, we have taken time to reflect on how best to structure and support the ministry moving forward—ensuring clear communication, shared responsibility, and a strong partnership among staff, parents, and parishioners.
To strengthen our mission and better serve our families, we are pleased to introduce the new Athletic Ministry Committee (AMC).
The Athletic Ministry Committee will be made up of parents, parishioners, and members of the St. Brigid community who desire to use athletics as a platform to build character, foster community, and share our Catholic faith with our young athletes.
The AMC will work in partnership with the Parish Office, the Safe Environment Office, the Marketing & Communications Office, the Parish Finance Office, and our Athletic Director.
We are grateful for the many individuals who have faithfully served SBK Athletics over the years, and we look forward to building this new ministry together. We invite former volunteers, as well as anyone passionate about youth sports and parish life, to consider applying to serve on the Athletic Ministry Committee. More details on the ministry structure and how to apply will be released in the winter of 2026.
Please join us in praying for this ministry, that through athletics our children may grow not only in skill and teamwork, but also in faith, virtue, and discipleship.

Morning Arrival & Tardy Policy Reminder
As we continue to work toward a smooth and efficient morning drop-off, we want to share an important update to help ensure our school day begins on time. Over the past several months, we have not been marking students tardy until after approximately 8:05 a.m. to support families during the transition to our new procedures. However, our school handbook states that the school day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
We are currently seeing several students entering the building after 8:00, which disrupts morning routines and results in missed instructional time. To help resolve this, and to better align with the handbook, we will begin issuing tardies at 8:00 a.m. starting Monday, January 12.
Updated Morning Procedures
- Car line drop-off has begun at 7:43 a.m. to help keep the line moving and support an on-time arrival.
- We encourage families to be in the drop-off line no later than 7:55 a.m. to ensure students can enter the building by 8:00 a.m.
- If you are waiting in line, please do your best to have your child ready before they get to the drop off zone. If help is needed in the drop off zone, please turn on your hazard lights so a staff member can assist.
- The church bells chime at 8:00 a.m., and they are a helpful indicator of an on-time arrival. Students should be walking inside the building before the bells ring to be considered on time.
Tardy Procedures (Beginning January 12)
- Students arriving between 8:00–8:05 a.m. will receive a tardy slip at the door. This slip will be handed to their homeroom teacher, who will mark them tardy in attendance and take the lunch count.
- Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. must be escorted into the building by a parent/guardian. The office will issue the tardy slip, record attendance, and take lunch count.
Please also remember that students arriving or leaving more than one hour late/early are marked as a half-day absent, per attendance guidelines.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting a calm and timely start to each school day. A smooth morning sets our students up for success.

A Reminder About Child Safety
As we approach the Christmas break, we encourage parents to take a few moments to talk with their children about personal safety. Extra activities, travel, and time away from regular routines can create situations where children may be around unfamiliar people or environments, making these conversations especially important.
Please remind children never to interact with strangers or go anywhere with someone they do not know— even if that person claims a parent, relative, or trusted adult sent them. Children should understand that a parent will never send someone they do not know to pick them up without telling them first. Encourage your child to trust their instincts and to seek help immediately from a trusted adult if something feels uncomfortable or confusing.
Maintaining open communication and reinforcing these safety messages helps children feel confident and prepared. Thank you for partnering with us to remain vigilant and to keep our children safe during the Christmas season and throughout the year.
In January we will be offering a meeting with Tyler Holliday, our Safety Officer, if you'd like to meet in person to discuss how to talk with your children about personal safety. Stay tuned for more details and a date.

Important Update for All Volunteers: Safe Environment Policy Change
Beginning January 1, 2026 the Diocese will implement an update to the Safe Environment Policy.
Previously, volunteers completed fingerprinting only once. Starting in January, all volunteers and parish employees (school staff already follow this) must renew fingerprinting every five years to remain compliant.
You do not need to retake the Protecting God’s Children (PGC) class — it remains “one and done.”
This update helps ensure that all adults who work with minors or vulnerable adults have up-to-date background checks. To avoid delays, please act early.
-
If it’s been more than five years since your last fingerprinting, schedule a new one soon.
- If you’re unsure when you last completed fingerprinting, please login to your Virtus account to see your dates. If you are having trouble logging in, then please let Brad Marzullo (bmarzullo@stbrigidofkildare.org) know.
- For step-by-step instructions and fingerprinting locations, visit:
Important: Fingerprinting results must be sent directly to the Diocese (Catholic Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment Office, 197 E. Gay Street, Columbus, OH 43215). Please do not send copies to St. Brigid.
We will host FastFingerprints sessions onsite for convenience (fees still apply).

In the Season of Giving, Don't Forget to Give Your Gift to the Annual Fund
As we celebrate this joyful season of Advent and Christmas, our hearts turn to the humble birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isaiah 9:6). This sacred moment reminds us of God’s generosity and love, gifts that inspire us to share that same spirit within our school community.
On behalf of the St. Brigid of Kildare Home & School Association, the faculty and staff thank you to all the families who have already supported this year’s Annual Fund. Your generosity directly enriches our children’s education supporting after-school programs, school performances, field trips, and the many special activities that help our students grow, explore, and experience joy.
Throughout this month, Home & School has planned a host of festive events for our children as we celebrate this holy season together. These moments of wonder and community are made possible because of your commitment and partnership.
As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, please know how grateful we are for each of you. May the peace of Christ and the joy of His birth fill your homes with hope and blessing.
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a grace-filled New Year.
If you haven’t had the chance, please consider making an Annual Fund donation today. If you have friends or family members that would like to contribute, we also receive gifts from other individuals committed to the education of our children. Please forward this email.
