The O'Reilly Minute

Dear Parents,

Our students enjoyed a fun Valentine’s Day yesterday with a red dress down day, party games planned by our room parents, and a delicious valentine cookie treat sponsored by our Annual Fund!  To see pictures from our parties, see our school Instagram or Facebook account.

Next week we will be attending Mass on Ash Wednesday (no school Mass on Thursday) in order to prepare our hearts for the liturgical season of Lent.  Please feel free to join us if your schedule allows.

Also next week we will begin offering a Crucial Conversations series around topics that are important to today’s parenting.  Bruce McKenna, campus safety and security, will be leading these sessions for parents on various topics related to family, community and personal safety.  The presentations will be one hour in length and will include Q & A.  The February meeting will be a great opportunity to learn about the safety principles and recent changes made here at Saint Brigid, tactics for maintaining a safe and alert campus, and skills that can be applied to any workplace or public environment.  This session will be offered two different times for your convenience.  Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00 am and Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30 pm.  Please read more about this and RSVP using the link in the story below.

A reminder to consider applying for tuition assistance for the 2023-2024 school year.  We have additional funds available for distribution due to the generosity of our donors through the Emmaus Road Scholarship program.  The deadline for applying for assistance will be March 15th.  Please see details in the article below.

In closing, in my 23 years as principal of Saint Brigid of Kildare School, I have had the remarkable opportunity to work closely with Monsignor Hendricks and to benefit from his spirituality, his compassion, his financial expertise and his dedication to the Catholic faith development of young and adult parishioners alike. Our parish school has truly benefited from the leadership of our faith-filled, visionary, and dedicated pastor.  He will be missed from the daily activities of parish life, but will continue to be present in so many ways for the greater good of the Diocese of Columbus.

Happy Valentine’s Day,

Kathy O'Reilly
