The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

We had a great time celebrating 2-22-22 yesterday! It was a great chance to have a little fun, express creativity, learn about palindromes, and celebrate this rare date! Check out the photos in the story below. We even took a school-wide brain break at 2:22 pm!

This past week notification emails were sent regarding the Oak Society grants. If you did not receive a notification and you feel that you should have, please contact me. Also, the March 15th deadline for applying for Tuition Assistance is fast approaching. Details regarding this program are in the story below. Please keep in mind that if you apply and receive tuition assistance your family is not eligible for the Oak Society grants.

Next week, Lent begins on March 2nd with Ash Wednesday. Our students will be attending the 9:00 am Mass on Wednesday. There will not be a school Mass on Thursday, March 3rd.

Blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly

Project WET Grant
Last weekend, some of our teachers had the opportunity to take part in the ProjectWET training here at St. Brigid. There were 19 total educators here - five from St. Brigid and five from the Diocese as well as other teachers from around Columbus. Teachers were able to try activities from the ProjectWET curriculum to bring back to our classrooms. Topics of study included the water cycle, the transfer of pollutants, erosion, the impact of building and development on streams and waterways and other topics related to water and wetlands.

This project is part of a grant we received from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and is an effort to bring together existing resources and create a cohesive learning module and instruct students on both core content, as well as multiple water concerns being addressed in our state as part of H2Ohio.
