Dear Parents,

Last week our Catholic Schools Week celebrations were cut short due to the severe winter weather.  The good news is that it seems to be Spring this week and we are doing some catch up! We will have student led conferences tonight and tomorrow evening.  On Friday we will have our school-wide meditation and hour of creativity, the teacher and staff appreciation luncheon, St. Brigid Feast Day parties and end with Pizza Bingo!

Next week we will celebrate Valentine's Day.  Students may bring Valentine cards for classmates on Thursday, February 14th.  Individual teachers will let students know about the classroom procedures. We will not have formal parties due to the fact that we just celebrated the Feast of St. Brigid with classroom parties.

Thank you for your support during our abbreviated Catholic Schools Week and your ongoing support each and every day.

Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

St. Brigid of Kildare School Glasses Drive

Our school will be holding a glasses drive, organized by 8th grade student Evan Sage as part of his Genius Hour project. Below are the details written and organized by Evan.

What is the St. Brigid of Kildare Glasses drive?

It is a collection drive for used glasses; students and parents can bring in gently used glasses that will then be donated to the Lions Club.

What is the Lions Club?

It is a non profit organization that collects donated glasses and gives them out to people who can not afford glasses.

How do I donate my glasses?

Students can bring old or used glasses to school and put them in the cardboard box found outside the classrooms.

How should I donate them?

You can donate your glasses by putting them in a plastic or paper bag and carefully put them in the cardboard box.

When can I start donating my glasses?

Collections begin on Feb. 13.  If there is a change in schedule, we will let you know.

What if I have more questions?

You can contact 8th grade student Evan Sage at [email protected] (please CC: his homeroom teacher, Mrs. Maschari at [email protected] on any email correspondence).

Wolfhound Families Sharing Time & Talent

Wolfhound Families Sharing Time & Talent is a new feature designed to connect school families with convenient access to volunteer opportunities and needs in the parish.

As one school parent stated, "My experience is once you try a ministry or volunteer role, you get hooked and then continue to sign up. We understand all families are busy, but if we can continue to encourage our school families to become more engaged, their faith and the strength of the parish as a community will also flourish."

St. Brigid is grateful for your time and consideration as your family continues on its faith journey.

Email Scam with Monsignor's Name

There is an email scam that has continued to go on with Monsignor's name on it. Someone has made up multiple email addresses using variations of Monsignor Hendricks's name, then sends emails to parishioners and staff members asking for a favor. The intent of this person is to get money or gift cards. If you receive an email like this, please delete it and do not reply. We are blocking these email addresses, but the person keeps creating new ones.

If Monsignor ever reaches out to you via email it will be from his St. Brigid of Kildare email address ([email protected]), so please ignore emails from any other address you may receive.

In case this person would move on to impersonating other staff members, you can review our real staff email addresses here: http://stbrigidofkildare.org/our-staff/ .
