The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,
If you haven’t already done so, please sign and return the Google permission letter at your earliest convenience. We need a signed letter for each student in grades K-8. If we do not receive a signed letter for your child by February 25th, their Google access will be turned off. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and for helping us ensure we have all necessary permissions on file.
This week, please have your students check the Lost and Found (located in the cafeteria) for their misplaced items or search together while attending Hounds Hoopla on Friday night. All remaining unclaimed and unlabelled items will be donated and purged this weekend in conjunction with the Uniform and Spirit Wear Exchange. Thank you!
This Friday, February 21st we will have a jeans dress down day to raise awareness of the daily challenges faced by those living with genetic rare diseases. Please read more about Rare Diseases Month and how we are honoring it in the story below.
This Friday is also Hounds Hoopla at our school -- a fun night of Bingo, a DJ, crafts, a magician and fun at our school! Volunteers and prize donations are still needed. Please see the story below to register, volunteer, and donate prizes.
I would also like to thank all of our sponsors and donors for SPiCE's upcoming Corks for a Cause Wine Tasting & Silent Auction on Saturday, March 1. New this year, we are offering the opportunity to purchase a SPiCE supporter star for $25 with your family's name on it. These stars will be used as part of the decor for the event and families can take home afterwards. The deadline to purchase these stars is this Friday, February 21. See the article below for more details.
Sincerely,
Kathy O'Reilly

Jubilee Prayer
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us in your son,
Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of
charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us into tireless
cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within
both humanity and the whole cosmos in
the sure expectation of a new heaven and
a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil
vanquished, your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken
in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the
treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy
and peace of our Redeemer throughout
the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory
and praise for ever.
Amen

SPiCE Celebrates Rare Disease Month
This month, SPiCE will be honoring Rare Disease Month with students learning about health conditions that impact a small percentage of people. 1 in 10 Americans have a rare disease, and more than half are children.
In addition to learning about rare diseases in class, students and staff will celebrate Friday, February 21st by dressing down! All are encouraged to wear jeans to raise awareness of the daily challenges faced by those living with genetic rare diseases.
Please view the slideshow below to learn more about rare diseases. Please note, slides 9-11 will be omitted for student presentations.

Show Your Love for St. Brigid by Supporting the Annual Fund!
Last week our school celebrated Valentine’s Day with food, fun and crafts. The parties your child enjoys are funded by the Annual Fund. Paying for parties is just one of the many items the Home and School Association funds with your gifts during the school year. Please consider a once-a-year contribution of $125 per student ($50 for preschool). 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to school projects and activities that enrich the learning experience for your children. Our goal is to have 100% participation with all our families. No gift is too small. Please join the families listed below by supporting this important program.
Please click the below arrow to give to the Annual Fund, and/or forward this email to a family member or friend who may be interested in contributing.

Play Like a Champion Training for Parents
SBAA invites all parents to participate in an upcoming diocesan “Play Like a Champion” training course, designed for coaches and required by the diocese for all CYO coach volunteer roles. This training also satisfies the “Parent Like a Champion” requirement for athletes’ CYO participation. The “Play Like a Champion” course is a 3 hour training, serving as an informational workshop providing coaches and parents with best in practice skills for building great teams and engaged athletes through the coach’s role.
As St Brigid of Kildare continues to grow sports offerings and expand to younger athletes, the “Play Like a Champion” training course is highly encouraged for parents interested in having their children participate in St Brigid athletics. This course is a one-time requirement for parents in the diocesan league (thereby this does not need to be completed for each athlete, only once per parent, per family). To learn more about the “Play Like a Champion” course, please visit our diocesan athletics webpage. To register to attend, sign up here.
Upcoming training courses and locations are below:
- Saturday, 3/1 @ St Catharine 9:30am-12:30pm
- Saturday, 3/22 @ St Agatha 9:30am-12:30pm
