Dear Parents,
Thank you for attending Msgr. Hendricks' State of the School and Parish meeting last Thursday evening. There was so much good news to share with the announcement of the parish concluding many years of debt service payments on June 30, 2020. With the blessing of the parish finance committee, a portion of the parish allocated funds that were being used to make monthly debt payments will now be used to fund Oak Society grants to assist active parish families with tuition expenses. January 24th.
There are also several other ways for families to support tuition payments:
- Tuition Assistance: Apply for this need-based assistance through the FACTS program. Deadline is March 15th. Find more information at this link.
- Scholarships: More information will be available about these offerings this coming spring. At this time we are building this program so it is a work in progress. More information here.
- Scrip Program: Through the purchase of gift cards families may earn tuition credits. More information can be found here.

Congrats Spelling Bee Participants!
|
Each year St. Brigid School participates in the Scripps National Spelling Program which starts at the Classroom Bee level in December, and ends with the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. in May. Classroom Bee winners competed through over 35 rounds of difficult words including "diaphoresis" and "thermohaline".
Seventh grader Hannah Stuebe earned the title School Champion. Fellow seventh grader Elizabeth McLaughlin was the runner up.

There will be a school uniform exchange on Sunday, February 2 from 9 AM – noon in the school cafeteria. This will be at the same time as the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast. Any family can attend the uniform exchange to pick up the uniforms they need at no cost. It’s simple –– just show up, look through the uniforms and leave with what you need.
If dropping off gently used uniforms please mark each item with its appropriate size.

EPIC Middle School Youth Ministry Upcoming Events

EPIC Youth Ministry is open to all 6-8th grade students in area public, private, & parochial schools. This February, EPIC Middle School Youth Ministry will be hosting a food drive (collecting specific food items before 9 AM, 10:45 AM, and 12:15 PM Masses on Sunday, Feb. 2) to support the Family Mentor Foundation.

St. Charles Offering Academic Scholarship Test January 25th for All 8th Grade Boys
St. Charles Preparatory School will offer its annual Academic Scholarship Test to prospective students at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25th in the Robert C. Walter Student Commons on the school’s campus (2010 East Broad Street). The exam is open to any 8th grade boy regardless of his current high school enrollment status. Test results determine which students will receive merit-based academic awards from the school for the 2020-2021 school year. For this 2019-2020 school year alone, St. Charles has offered more than $400,000 in academic scholarships and grants to its students. St. Charles is an Ed Choice participating school and is committed to providing financial aid to qualified families.
