The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

I hope that the first few weeks of summer break have allowed your family to enjoy some summer fun on these gorgeous sunny days!

Our faculty and staff have been busy preparing for the reopening of our school in August. Our task force has met, and we will be forming sub committees to guide our planning. The subcommittees and the areas of preparation include the following:

  • Catholic Identity
  • Logistics & Planning
  • Communication and Community
  • Technology
  • Instruction, Curriculum, & Assessment

The task force is using the "Leading With Hope" research from Loyola University, guidance from the Ohio Department of Education and the data we collected from student, parent and teacher surveys in May. In addition, the task force has surfaced several additional questions to collect further data that will be helpful in our planning.  Please see the link below and participate in the work of the task force by sharing your thoughts through the survey.

I am excited to share that Camp Wolfhound is ready to go! Our teachers have planned a wide variety of short term, fun, yet academic, faith based, and/or social experiences to provide some learning options this summer. We are offering virtual camps and camps that will be offered at the school. Not only will this provide a great opportunity for students to learn, but we will also be able to bring students back into the building in small groups and “practice” new health and safety guidelines. Please see the story below to learn more and to register for Camp Wolfhound!!!

Please continue to pray for our work in preparing for our return to school and continue to pray for each other.

Kathy O'Reilly

P.S.  If you have a summer submission for the Wolfhound Wednesday please email Chris Mazon at  mr.mazon@stbrigid-school.org .
Parent June Survey
After reading through all of the previous survey responses, a few more questions have come to mind that we would like you to answer. Your responses will help us to continue to plan for the fall. We are appreciative of your feedback and are hard at work exploring all possible scenarios for how school may look with focuses on Catholic Identity, communication, technology, logistics, curriculum and instruction, and health and safety.

Survey information is due by June 26th.

Thank you for sharing your experience!
Camp Wolfhound
Hello, St. Brigid families! We are so happy to announce our Camp Wolfhound offerings for July and August. We have a variety of opportunities, both in-person and virtual, for families to choose from, including programs such as Reader’s Theater, Monday Morning Mindfulness, Beyond the Stars, Get Moving, and exSTREAM Challenge. Please click on the Program Descriptions link below to read about all of our exciting programs!

Each program has a limited number of spots available. The numbers are dependent upon the teachers involved with each offering. We are working on the idea of having 8 students per teacher. Please only sign up for one camp/child. If there are open spots after initial sign ups, we will let you know. Initial sign ups will be open until Friday, June 26th.

Each program has a fee of $25. This rate covers things such as materials for the camp and a Camp Wolfhound t-shirt. If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact Mrs. Carfagna at the email listed below.

To sign up for a camp, make a payment, indicate a shirt size and transportation, and to provide other necessary information, please use the Sign Up link below.

We will be following the health guidelines listed below:

  • Prior to attending camp each day, self testing of temperature must occur. If a camper has a temperature of 100 degrees or higher, the camper may not attend. Also, assess your camper for any of the following symptoms: unexplained cough, sore throat, body aches/chills, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. Has camper been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the past 14 days? Any of these conditions will preclude attendance at camp.

  • Teachers will wear masks during camps.

  • Campers must arrive wearing a mask each day. There may be times/activities during the program that will not require masking with 6 ft. social distancing. Each program is limited to 8 students per teacher in a space large enough to accommodate 6 ft. social distancing between campers.

  • Supplies will not be shared.

  • Campers must wash hands prior to entering the classroom. Handwashing will also occur after breaks, if coming in from outside, after using the restroom, and before leaving for the day.

  • Masks must be worn by any visitors entering the building.

  • Campers will remain with the teacher leading their camp. No intermixing with other groups will occur.

  • Spaces and surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized before, between, and at the end of sessions.

  • Arrival/Departure-Curbside drop off and pick up will occur. It is recommended to ride with the same individual both ways, if possible. Upon arrival, teachers will meet their students outside, and teachers will bring students outside for pick up.

  • No personal items are necessary to bring to camp.

  • A water bottle may be brought as drinking fountains will not be in use.

  • No food will be served.

We are so excited to be able to have students participate in Camp Wolfhound! We hope that this experience fosters further connection among staff and students, and that students are able to learn and have fun along the way! If you have any questions regarding Camp Wolfhound, please contact Jill Carfagna at mrs.carfagna@stbrigid-school.org.

***Summer programming is subject to change depending on guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health.***
Musical Cast Meet Up
The cast of Annie enjoyed a special Kona Ice treat to end the year. With the traditional cast party not possible due to COVID-19, a quick summer grab and go happened last week for students and families from the cast and crew. It was a beautiful day and we wish all the best to our graduating 8th grade cast members!
Preschool Summer Activities
Preschool students are enjoying their summer preschool-in-a-bag kit. Kits include 14 activities they can do at home. The first bag was all about the zoo! If you are interested in purchasing any of the remaining kits, please contact Hillary at mrs.harper@stbrigid-school.org

Summer Tutoring
As we do at the end of each school year, we are sharing a summer tutoring list with you. In the world of COVID-19, we don't know whether or not 1:1 tutoring sessions will be allowed to happen in person. But, we thought we would share this in case things begin to open up and you would like to consider extra supports for your child.

Staff can be contacted via email or by calling the school office and leaving a message.
Refund Policy 20-21
Saint Brigid of Kildare School will be prepared to educate your children for the 2020-21 school year.  Given that families may need flexibility during this uncertain time we are offering assistance with deferring payments until September 1st (if needed).  If you find that your family needs to withdraw, please contact the school office so that we can understand your concerns. If finances are an issue, we may have additional resources available. We want to work with you to continue offering the gift of Catholic education to your child(ren). If you absolutely are not able to make tuition payments we would like to extend a more flexible COVID withdrawal policy
We offer our school families the following options:

If Saint Brigid School is restricted from offering a typical school schedule on campus full-day, families may withdraw without penalty any time prior to August 15th and will be refunded any tuition paid less the $150 tuition deposit (paid by new families). Families who withdraw after school starts will forfeit 1/10th of annual school tuition for every month the student is enrolled.

If Saint Brigid School is able to offer a typical school schedule on campus, families may withdraw without penalty any time prior to August 1 and will be refunded any tuition paid less the $150 tuition deposit (paid by new families). Families who withdraw after August 1 will forfeit 1/10th of annual school tuition for every month the student is enrolled.
We are also able to offer flexibility at this time with several different tuition payment plan options. If it is helpful for your family’s financial planning, you may choose to delay your first payment until September. You may choose the following:
  • Full payment in September
  • Semi-annual payments in September and February
  • Quarterly payments in September, December, March and June
  • 10 monthly payments starting in September
