The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

As the school year draws to a close on Friday, June 4th, I would like to invite everyone to our virtual Leadership Mass, which will be livestreamed at 10:00 am. We are so excited that our entire student body for the first time this year will be attending Mass in person. Our closing school liturgy always includes a beautiful ceremony during which our 8th-grade students symbolically pass the leadership of the school to our rising 7th graders. Due to the fact that this is a special occasion for our 7th and 8th grade we are inviting our 7th and 8th-grade parents to attend Mass in person. We are asking our P - 6 parents to join us virtually since we will not have appropriate socially distanced room for all of our students and additional parents. I thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. Following Mass we will be recognizing our school staff who have served 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years at our school and we will also recognize our retiring staff. Please join us via livestream here.

I am pleased to announce several new staff members for the 2021 - 2022 school year.
  • We welcome Ms. Jacqueline Friesner to the 5-6 team. Ms. Friesner has four years teaching experience in math and science at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Cincinnati and is moving to the area and getting married later this year.
  • Ms. Rachel Jordan is joining our Specialists Team as our new P.E. instructor. Ms. Jordan has been teaching physical education for the last four years at St. Patrick School in London, Ohio. Ms. Jordan lives in the Dublin area and is looking forward to being a Wolfhound!
  • Mrs. Sara Wolfe is joining the 3-4 team. Mrs. Wolfe has been teaching for nine years at Blessed Sacrament School in Newark, Ohio. She has had many roles at Blessed Sacrament including technology coordinator, middle school math teacher, and a 4th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher.
  • I am also happy to announce that Mrs. Sandy Peecook is moving from part-time to full-time in our school office. Mrs. Peecook will assume the full-time role of Office Manager and will be greeting you at the door and on the phone when we return for the 2021-22 school year.

Congratulations and welcome to all of our new staff!

Next week will be our final regular Wolfhound Wednesday for the school year. However, we will provide regular communication regarding our planning and back to school information in summer editions of the Wolfhound Wednesday. In addition to the Wolfhound Wednesday you will also be receiving periodic Task Force updates as the committee makes plans for next year. We want to keep you informed as we have news to share this summer.

Please read the story below which includes a letter from our Superintendent of Schools regarding COVID protocols for summer programming. We will be following these protocols for our summer programming.

Please keep in your prayers this week our 8th-grade graduates. We will proudly graduate our 23rd class of 8th graders on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:00 pm. We will conclude this amazing year on June 4th by celebrating together at Mass, having a whole school picnic in our backyard and early dismissal at 1:00 pm. We knew that this year we could overcome whatever challenges and obstacles lay ahead. Our theme this year was With God We Can and…. With God We Did!!

May Saint Brigid continue to keep you safe and bless your family,
Kathy O'Reilly

Updated Summer Protocols from Diocese of Columbus
At the link below is a letter from Superintendent Adam Dufault regarding guidance for school activities conducted during June (following the last day of school) and July of 2021.

This new guidance pertains to school-sanctioned summer activities only, such as camps, summer classes, athletic practices, and other enrichment activities. Reflecting the increase in the vaccinated
population, the low risk of infection in children, and the rapidly falling case numbers in Ohio, these protocols are a shift toward a surveillance methodology, similar to what we use for other infectious diseases such as the flu.

Summer activities are distinctly different than educational activities during the school year. All
summer programs are optional and participation is voluntary. Unlike during the school year, a nurse or medical professional is not required to be present or available.

Click the link below to read the rest of the letter and the indoor and outdoor protocols.
