Dear Parents,
The season of Lent offers many opportunities for all of us to take time to reflect and use the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting and almsgiving as a way to grow together as a family. As a school community we will spend extra time in prayer and reflection by attending the Stations of the Cross and a special prayer service on April 5th during Holy Week. You are invited to join us for these Lenten prayer opportunities on the following dates:
- March 7 2:00 PM Church
-
March 22 2:00 PM Church
- March 30 2:00 PM Church
- April 5 2:00 PM Gym
As a parish community there are many Lenten activities being offered this year. Please click here Lent 2023 to learn more about the soup suppers, vespers, collection drives, penance services and several additional prayer opportunities. I would like to highlight one of my personal favorites - Taize prayer. There will be a Taize Prayer Service this Thursday, March 2nd at 6:30 pm in the Church. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a quiet hour together as a family with prayer, reflection and music.
In closing I would like to remind families to review the email you received yesterday regarding our exciting new tuition assistance program. We are so excited to have over $400,000 available to help families with tuition for the 2023-24 school year. This is a 60% increase from prior years, but the funds are only accessible if families apply through FACTS by March 15, 2023. All applications and materials are confidential and you will be informed of your award status in May. The FACTS application is similar to a FAFSA application parents would fill out for college -- it takes into account your family income and number of children, and awards are given based on those numbers. You will not be penalized for applying, but will be awarded an amount based on the total funds available and total applications received.
Please consider applying for an Emmaus Road Scholarship. We would love to help you lessen the financial burden of a Catholic education.

If you still have questions on whether or not you should apply, please reach out to Megan Wachalec at mrs.wachalec@stbrigid-school.org.
Lenten blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly
PS. I look forward to seeing many of you Saturday night at the Corks for a Cause event. There are only a few tickets left -- see the article below for more information and links to purchase tickets.
