Dear Parents,

Congratulations to the cast, crew and artists of Aladdin!  They put on three highly-talented performances last week that were enjoyed by students, parents, relatives, friends of the school and our parish 55+ Club.

A special thank you to the creative team of Crystal Bensonhaver,  Mar Frommeyer, Ken Heigel, Shelly Reardon, Stacie Williams, Larrie Habel, Carolyn Kramer and Bernadette Dinehart for their endless hours in directing and producing this theatrical event. Thank you also to the many teacher and parent volunteers who helped with the production including Chris Mazon, Jill Cecutti, Jeremy Johnson, Erin Mazon, Bridget DeSocio, Andrea Knabe, Nick Byorth, Amy Yaich, Sherry Drzal, Rich Habel, Greg Svatora, Diane Spagnuola, Alison Grogan, Erin Samenuk, Becky O'Connor, Barb Worly, Maria McClain, Brian Hagerty, Tina White, Bella Groce, Allie Wing, Kim Eilerman, and Lori Henry.  Thank you to St. Brigid theater alums, Catherine DeSocio and Dew Curtain, for helping to support the program this year.

Additionally, a big thank you to the many unnamed parent volunteers who assisted the creative team with countless hours of work to create costumes and play sets to help our students have fun, work hard, and experience new learning opportunities while learning an appreciation for musical theater. One of the most important aspects of this experience is that in the spirit of ministry our creative team guides the cast, crew and artists to be thankful for their God-given talents and for the strengths of each other.  Our students truly had the opportunity to learn the lessons of our performing arts mission statement: To inspire young people to discover and utilize their God-given talents and to bring evidence of Christ's love in the joy they bring to the audience.

It was a truly amazing performance that couldn't have been put on without all of their help!  With that thought in mind, many of our creative team are retiring after many years of service. We are seeking individuals who are interested in joining or participating in a leadership role on the creative team. If you are interested please contact Crystal Bensonhaver.  At this time, I would also like to thank the audience for the generous free-will donations of $1,275.00 to support the arts at St. Brigid.

See the article below for the links to view photos from the musical, and for a thank you video for our retiring volunteers.

Please note that the Easter Basket collection for Holy Family Soup Kitchen is THIS WEEK .  See the story below for more details.

Spring break begins this coming Friday, March 22nd and we will return on Monday, April 1st for fourth quarter.  Enjoy your time with your family and friends!

Lenten Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Visit from Catholic Radio AM820

St. Gabriel Catholic Radio visited with the 5th graders at St. Brigid of Kildare yesterday for their Bishop Campbell call in program.  This was Bishop Campbell's last show in this format!

Our students' answers will be aired on "From the Chair with Bishop Campbell" on Tuesday, April 2nd from 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M . on St. Gabriel Catholic Radio AM820. The episode will also be available on their website on the Archive section here.

Important Message from the Saint Brigid Athletic Association!

The Athletic Board is pleased to announce a fundamental change in how our board is structured. All positions are now up for re-election each year.  We encourage all parish members to apply regardless of children in the program and/or previous service on the board. All current board members wanting to continue service should apply as well.

This is your chance to get involved! If you have any interest in helping out with the athletic board, this is the time. You can see a list of current board positions on  www.gowolfhounds.com.

If you would like more information about any of our board positions and/or to express interest, simply contact  [email protected]. The time commitment depends on the position, but for most positions is far less than you might expect - and you get to be involved with all our sports programs and initiatives.

While all positions are available, in particular we are actively looking for a new Athletic Director as our current AD will be moving on at the end of this school year. Just contact us for more information!
Easter Basket Collection for Holy Family Soup Kitchen
Collection is THIS Week!

Please help the Social Action Committee supply Easter Baskets of candy, crackers and nutritious snacks for family distribution at the Holy Family Soup Kitchen and food pantry. Donations are being collected March 18-22 in containers marked "Easter Goodies" in the school cafeteria. As a reminder, all crackers, nutritious snacks and candy need to be individually wrapped.

Your family is invited to help assemble the baskets on Saturday, March 23, at 9:30 am, in the school cafeteria. Come and make this a family event.
Installation Mass & Vespers Service for Most Rev. Robert Brennan
The Installation Mass for Bishop Designate Robert Brennan as the twelfth Bishop of Columbus will take place on Friday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral. There will also be an Evening Vespers Service with Bishop Designate Robert Brennan on Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. Due to space restrictions at the Cathedral, attendance at both Vespers and the Installation Mass is by invitation only.

Parish lay participation at these historic celebrations is essential to Bishop Brennan and the Installation Committee, so our parish has selected Mr. and Mrs. Daniel and Stephanie Hackett to attend the Vespers, and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff and Maureen Zimmerman to attend the Installation Mass to represent Saint Brigid of Kildare at these services.
