The O'Reilly Minute

Dear Parents,

This week I am delighted to invite you to An Evening At The Arts on Thursday and Friday. Join us either day from 6:00 - 7:00 pm to stroll through our halls and enjoy the beautiful artwork created by our students in preschool through grade 8. At 7:00 pm, our middle school thespians and stage crew will be presenting Frozen Jr. Our students and their creative adult advisors have put together an amazing performance. Please plan to join us for one or both of these events. (See story below)

If your schedule allows, please feel free to join us tomorrow in the church at 2:00 pm for Stations of the Cross. Additionally next week during Holy Week we will have a special Lenten prayer service at 2:00 pm in the gym.

Please keep in your prayers the families and victims of the recent school shooting in Nashville.  Many of our school families inquired yesterday and today about the safety procedures here at our school.  If you would like to learn more about our school safety plan and would like an opportunity to meet with Mr. Bruce McKenna, campus safety,  we are going to offer an impromptu informal conversation on Monday, April 3rd at 8:30 am and also a lunchtime session from 11:30 - 12:30.  No RSVP is needed.

We wish that we could shelter our children from the world of violence, but it is important to talk with our children about school safety and let them know that teachers, parents, and other adults at school/home are here to care and protect them.  Words are powerful and talking with your kids is very important.  Just start with simple questions and see what they know, then meet them at their level of their knowledge.  I have attached information which may help you as parents when talking with your children about school violence.

As the weather improves and we are able to have more outdoor recess, we are in need of volunteers to assist during recess both on our kindergarten playground and our 1st - 6th playground. Please see the Quick Links in the Wolfhound Wednesday to sign up to volunteer. This is a great way to meet our children and to help our staff keep recess safe and fun!

Lenten Blessings,

Kathy O’Reilly
