The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

Tomorrow our 2nd grade 1st Communion class and 8th grade Confirmation class will be leading our May procession for our traditional May Crowning ceremony. The procession will leave school and walk towards Avery Road and proceed through the front doors of the church. This will take place as a part of our 9:00 am school Mass. Please plan to join us if your schedule allows.

Next week, we are excited to be hosting an “Evening of the Arts.” Mrs. Habel will have artwork on exhibit for all grade levels featuring pottery, sketches and paintings. Ms. Bensonhaver has prepared students from 6th, 7th and 8th grade to provide a “25th Anniversary Musical Revue” featuring favorite songs from musical shows performed here over the last 25 years! The school will be open from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 19th and Friday, May 20th. The musical performance will begin at 7:00 pm on both evenings.

The deadline to apply for any of the Saint Brigid of Kildare School scholarships is tomorrow, May 12. Please note that these are open to all families regardless of receiving tuition assistance or Oak Society grants. More information on each scholarship and links to apply can be found on this webpage. We are thankful for our many donors who are supporting this scholarship program to assist our families who have a strong commitment to Catholic education.

During this month of honoring Mary, may we all continue to look to Mary for guidance in following God’s plan.

Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Security Tips
With the nice weather, our children will be outside more and having fun. In order to help keep them safe, we routinely do a basic safety lesson for preschoolers and kindergarten during this time of the year. We will cover basic safety lessons in a fun way with storyboards that they help me to tell the story with. Please remind your kids of what you expect of them to do if lost and other family rules to follow.

Spring is a good time for cleaning. It is also a great time to take a look in your medicine cabinet and get rid of any unused or expired prescription medicines. Dublin Police has a prescription drop box available in their lobby 24/7 where you can dispose of your medicines properly. There is a correlation between prescription drug abuse and our current problems with opioids and fentanyl laced drugs.

We were all made aware of the recent tragedy at The Ohio State University involving the passing of students due to fentanyl. Take the time to discuss with your kids, while you are cleaning out your medicine cabinets, your rules and expectations for them when it comes to medicines.

Be safe and always feel free to reach out to me:
