The O'Reilly Minute

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow our second grade First Communion class and eighth grade Confirmation class will be leading our May procession for the traditional May Crowning ceremony. The procession will leave school and then proceed through the front doors of the church. Please plan to join us if your schedule allows. Due to the procession, students will be sitting with their class.

May Crowning is a beautiful Catholic tradition honoring Mary as the Mother of Jesus and our Blessed Mother. It is especially meaningful that our students who recently received or are preparing to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation will lead this celebration of faith and devotion. As a school community, we are grateful for the example of prayer, reverence, and joyful discipleship that these students provide for our school and parish community.

Wolfhound Field Day, sponsored by the Home and School Annual Fund, is scheduled for Friday, May 24th. Thank you to all of our volunteers. We do have a few volunteer spots open for class helpers for grades 6–8 and for the water tables. A separate email will be coming to your inbox this Friday with specific details regarding dress, lunch, etc. There will also be an opt out permission slip if you do not wish to have your child participate.

Coaches & Volunteers Needed

Our athletics programs depend on dedicated volunteers. Coaches play an important role in developing skills, promoting sportsmanship, and creating a positive team experience for our student-athletes.

Coaches must be at least 21 years old and complete all required safe environment and coaching certifications. They are also expected to attend preseason meetings and follow age-appropriate instruction guidelines. Ongoing support and training are provided by sport commissioners.

If you are interested in coaching soccer or golf, please send your name, email, and phone number to Athletic Director Aaron Quinn at aquinn@stbrigidofkildare.org by May 20.

Thank you for helping us continue to provide meaningful athletic opportunities for our students!

Serra Club Altar Server Awards

Three St. Brigid of Kildare altar servers were honored last Sunday, May 3, at the Cathedral with the Altar Server Award presented by the Serra Club and Bishop Earl Fernandes. The award recognizes young people who demonstrate dedication, reverence, and faithful service to the Church through their ministry at the altar.

Representing St. Brigid of Kildare School were Charlie Blouir, Bernadette Dziewiatkowski, and Stephen Freiburger, who were recognized during the special award ceremony alongside altar servers from across the diocese.

We are proud of Charlie, Bernadette, and Stephen for their commitment to serving during Mass and for the example of faith they set for our parish and school community. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
