The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

As we head into the last few weeks of school we have many exciting things planned to bring our community together in celebration.  This Thursday and Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm everyone is invited to “An Evening of the Arts,” highlighting the musical and artistic talents of our students. We then have the opportunity to celebrate our pastor, Monsignor Joseph Hendricks, this Sunday.  He will be celebrating the 11:00 am Mass in honor of his 50th anniversary of ordination and his 25 years of service in our parish.  Mass will be followed by a parish picnic at Brigid’s Green.  Our physical talents and the opportunity to have some fun will then be celebrated by our annual Wolfhound Field Day featuring Supergames and a grilled hot dog lunch on Friday, May 27th.  Details and an opt-out permission for field day will be sent via a separate email on Friday of this week.

Last but not least we have one more opportunity to celebrate this year that we are a three-time Blue Ribbon School.  Students and staff are invited to wear their Blue Ribbon t-shirts on this coming Thursday’s (May 19th) early release day.

Spring blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Congrats Power of the Pen Team!
The St. Brigid Power of the Pen team made school history on Friday at the State tournament at Otterbein. 8 of our 12 writers qualified for States, which is the most we’ve ever had attend.

The competing writers were MJ Burns, Emma Drab, Marinda Pope, Paige Harper, Marcos Miller-Carmona, Laura Perez, and Maren Reville. Marinda, Paige, and Emma qualified for the prestigious Power Round, and Emma Drab won 2nd place overall in the seventh grade over thousands of writers in Ohio. Our combined seventh and eighth grade team won first place. We are incredibly proud of these writers, who took home gold at districts, regionals, and states. Congratulations, wolfhound writers!

Security Hounds Update
We completed the safety lessons with Preschool, which was topped off with a cruiser tour and visit with Cpl. Morris of Dublin PD.

We will continue with the safety lessons with Kindergarten this Friday. Please talk with your children about basic traffic signs, your rules and expectations for crossing the street, and what to do if they are lost in public.

National Police Officer Week is now (May 15-22). Please take a moment to remember the men and women that gave their life for all of us. The names of local fallen officers are inscribed on the front pillars at the Dublin Justice Center 6565 Commerce Pkwy. Blue lightbulbs on the front porch, blue ribbons on a tree or mailbox, or a simple wave to your district officer goes a long way.

Be safe and enjoy the last remaining days of the school year.

Save the Date—Back to School Uniform and Spirit Wear Exchange
Donations Accepted in School Office Until June 17

August 14, 2022 10 am - 1 pm

To everyone who donates, volunteers, and uses the uniform and spirit wear exchange—thank you so much! Your donations help other families and reduce waste!

In the coming months, please gather gently used items your children no longer need and donate them to the school office by June 17 or hang onto them until the week of Aug 8, when the school office will be open to receive donations. Items accepted include all logo and non-logo uniform items AND spirit wear and PE uniforms.

This is a great opportunity for 8th graders to clean their closets before high school! Non-logo articles that are not claimed at the back to school exchange will be donated to other local schools in need! And remember, you don’t need to donate to “shop” the exchange!
