The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

As Memorial Day approaches we are grateful for the many blessings of the 2020 - 21 school year!

Super Games field day was truly a blessing! Our Home and School Annual Fund provided the funds that allowed us to have two days of fun and games! Students also enjoyed an outdoor picnic complete with hot dogs grilled by Mr. Rich and Mr. Nick, side dishes served by our amazing cafeteria staff and snow cones from our very own new snow cone machine! Check out the photos in the album below.

This year’s celebration of Confirmation was an extraordinary blessing. Bishop Brennan visited with each one of our Confirmandi in Hendricks Hall during the 45 minutes before Mass began. He shared his desire to establish a connection with each of them before the celebration of Mass and the anointing for the sacrament. He truly made each student feel that Confirmation was a special gift of the Holy Spirit.

Next week we will proudly graduate our 23rd class of 8th-grade students on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:00 pm. Our last day of school is June 4th and will include our Leadership Mass. Parents will be able to attend via livestream. There will be early dismissal at 1:00 pm.

As the end of the school year is rapidly approaching, we begin thinking about the calendar for next year. The first week of school for 2021-22 will be August 25th. Our recent parent and teacher feedback surveys indicated a desire to continue the concept of a staggered schedule for the opening of school. We will honor that desire this year with the following schedule:

  • Students in all grades with last names beginning with letters A-K will report to school in uniform on Wednesday, August 25.  School lunch will be available and our regular school hours will be followed.
  • Students in all grades with last names beginning with letters L-Z will report to school in uniform on Thursday, August 26.  School lunch will be available and our regular school hours will be followed.
  • All students will come to school together for the first time on Friday, August 27. Students will be in uniform, school lunch will be available, and our regular school hours will be followed.

More details regarding next school year will be shared as details are solidified by the task force.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend and remember to honor our men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces.

Spring Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Become a New Family Mentor
Home and School is currently looking for parents to sign up to be on the New Family Welcome committee. This entails being a mentor to a new family for the next school year. Mentor families will attend the new family welcome breakfast (hoping to be held in August, dependent on COVID situation), and also need to be available to check in with their new family monthly and be available to answer any questions and assist with their transition. Mentors will be paired up with new families with children in the same grades.

If you are interested in being a new family mentor, fill out the short form below.

back-school-bus.jpg
Please see the note below regarding May 27.

Dear Parents of Olentangy Local School District Non-Public Students:
This letter is to inform you that May 27, 2021 is the last day of school in the Olentangy Local School District (OLSD). All OLSD elementary schools will release two (2) hours early on the last day of school. Please be aware that the early release may cause up to a 15 - minute delay in the arrival of buses at non-public schools. Consequently, this delay could impact the PM routes of your students arriving to their stops on time. Notification of potential delays were issued to non-public school offices and drivers were instructed to call the OLSD transportation office to report if they experience delays on that day. Non-public schools that are still in session after May 27 will continue to have bus service through the end of their school calendar. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We hope you enjoy your summer!

Sincerely, Lori Carter-Evans Director of Transportation
