Dear Parents,

As the year draws to a close I would like to thank everyone for participating last week in our various celebrations of learning.  We have had a great year studying mosaics, the Trinity Dome and of course all of our academic experiences. It is so exciting to witness the joy of learning and to also know that our children are appreciating their faith and learning to be disciples in today's world.

As the year draws to a close on Friday, June 1st, I would like to once again invite everyone to our closing school liturgy at 9:00 AM.  Following Mass we will be recognizing our school staff who have served 5, 10, 15 and 20 years at our school. The day will close at 1:00 PM with early dismissal (Please note the change from our regular 1:30 PM early dismissal).

This is our final regular Wolfhound Wednesday for the school year.  However, periodically during the summer months there will be a Wolfhound Wednesday with summer updates.

We have prayed, we have studied, and we have played, and now it is time to take our summer break to renew, refresh and prepare for the 2018-19 school year.

Thank you for a great year and on behalf of the entire school faculty and staff we wish you a restful, prayerful and fun-filled summer.

Summer Blessings ,
Kathy O'Reilly

Extra doses of scheduled prescription medications must be picked up by a parent this week. Please stop by the Clinic to gather these meds and to get a new medication form for the 2018-19 school year.

Summer Garden Help Needed
The school garden will continue to grow throughout the summer, but helpers are needed!

Could your family help? All school families are encouraged to visit the garden whenever it fits your schedule. If you see weeds, pull them. If the soil seems dry, water it. If vegetables and herbs are ready to harvest, take them. It is simple to help! "Papa Jack" Rekstis, our true garden expert, will be found working in the garden many days this summer...but needs your help.

Papa Jack will be working in the Garden this Saturday and Sunday (June 2nd and 3rd) from 10:00 until midafternoon each day. There is a lot to do. We will be planting, building new beds and more. All are welcome.

No sign-up necessary...just come when you can!

NoBody is Perfect 5K
Organized by St. Brigid 5th Grade Student, Bailey Kerins

Join us for the first annual NoBody is Perfect 5K run/walk on Saturday, July 28 at Darree Park in Dublin, OH. This event supports the fight against eating disorders. It serves to spread awareness in our community about eating disorders as well as raises much-needed funds for research surrounding these mental illnesses.

NoBody is Perfect is a Non-Profit charity founded by Bailey Kerins, a fifth grade student at St. Brigid of Kildare School, and Kaleigh Olmstead, a recent University of Notre Dame graduate. Together, they hope to help those fighting eating disorders by inspiring positive self-image within the community while spreading awareness and raising money for necessary research.

Crucial Conversations Parent Survey

As we work to plan our next Crucial Conversations parent workshop, we would like to collect your input so that we can tailor our workshops to the needs and interests of parents here at St. Brigid of Kildare.

If you haven't yet, please take just a minute to answer the 5-question survey. We greatly appreciate it!

Become A New Family Mentor

Home and School is currently looking for parents to sign up to be on the New Family Welcome committee. This entails being a mentor to a new family for the next school year. Mentor families will attend the new family welcome reception at the beginning of the school year and also need to be available to check in with their new family monthly and be available to answer any questions and assist with their transition. Mentors will be paired up with new families with children in the same grades.

If you have any questions, contact Susan Mangold at smangold1025@gmail.com or 610-308-4203.
