The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

What a great day it was yesterday! We celebrated our 2nd graders by having a car procession at the school. We showered them with love and support to encourage them since their First Communion would have been celebrated this week. (Msgr. Hendricks will schedule First Communion as soon as we are able to safely celebrate.) Abundant joy was evident last evening at St. Brigid of Kildare as families and teachers saw each other for the first time since March! Please see videos from the event in the story below.
We are also beginning to celebrate our 8th grade students as they prepare to graduate. Today they are being surprised with yard signs and we have several more surprises yet to come! One thing is certain, we are all being called to be creative and innovative in so many different ways. Some in this world are working on vaccines and designing how to sterilize PPE quickly and others are learning how to teach and learn through e-learning as well as to celebrate and stay connected as a faith-based community. All important and significant in fighting this pandemic.

We are beginning to think about returning personal items to our students and collecting back school items. In the story below you will find information regarding the first part of the process.

In closing, I would like to share with you a thought-provoking bed-time story. Please click on the link to view:  The Great Realisation

May the blessings of St. Brigid be with you and your family,

Kathy O'Reilly

Everything is different about the end of a school year in the middle of a pandemic!

One of the steps that is needed involves getting student belongings as well as their schoolwork back to the parents. Students will not be returning to the building due to ODH and CDC guidance.

We have arranged for an organized curbside pick-up to allow parents the opportunity to easily collect these items.

There will be many time slots to choose from on May 14 and 15. Please sign up for one here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090E4FAFA72CA31-collect

For questions or concerns, please email mrs.iannarino@stbrigid-school.org

8th Grade Federal Test Taken Online
In the fall, eighth grade students were registered to participate in a testing program through the US Department of Education, called the Middle Grades Longitudinal Study. This test was supposed to take place in our school in April, but was cancelled due to COVID-19. Eighth grade students were then asked to complete the test online, and many of them have done so. Once completed, students receive a certificate for service hours from the US Department of Education. Thanks to our eighth graders who have participated, and to Micheal for sharing a picture of the certificate he received. We are proud of our eighth grade students!
