The O'Reilly Minute

Dear Parents,

We will gather together as a school family for Mass on Tuesday, November 22nd at 9:00 am to praise the Lord and thank him for our many gifts as Thanksgiving Day approaches. Please plan to join us if your schedule allows.

Following Mass, students will enjoy our annual Thanksgiving Feast during their regularly scheduled lunch periods. The tradition of 8th grade students serving the delicious turkey meal is enjoyed by both the 8th grade and the younger students alike.

We were excited to announce this past weekend at Mass an opportunity to participate in a new program to help fund tuition assistance for our families. The Emmaus Scholarship Fund is a NEW Ohio Tax credit program that has the potential to greatly benefit our school families. Please see the details in the story below and consider making a donation today to the fund and also invite other family members, friends and neighbors to participate. This is an easy way to donate to our school via a tax credit.

Autumn Blessings,

Kathy O'Reilly

AM Traffic Reminder

car-front-icon.gif

Parents:

Thank you for doing a great job with our AM arrival and PM dismissal traffic plans.

As a quick reminder for the AM arrival:

Please use the pattern to drive-thru and drop-off your child.

If you need extra time, please park in a space in the lot and walk or have your child use the two crosswalks.

Please DO NOT stop in the parking lot lanes of travel and drop your child off. This impedes car flow for those looking to park, employees parking, or deliveries.

Thank you for your help.

Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund: New Ohio Tax Credit Program

This weekend at Mass, we spoke about a new state program that allows donors to receive a tax credit on their Ohio tax return up to $750 ($1,500 if married and filing jointly).

In 2021 the State of Ohio created a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Program. This program allows Ohio taxpayers to donate to a K-12 SGO for that school to use for scholarships for tuition based on financial need. The donor then receives a dollar-for-dollar non-refundable tax credit on their Ohio state tax return up to $750 ($1,500 if married and filing jointly). This is in addition to a federal tax deduction you are always able to take.

The Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund (under the Diocesan Education Corporation) is certified as an SGO by the Ohio Attorney General. This fund solely benefits students in the Diocese of Columbus Catholic Schools.

Parishioners, family, and friends of St. Brigid of Kildare can donate and directly designate St. Brigid of Kildare School as the recipient of their donation. If you choose not to designate a school, the money will be used in a general fund for financial aid for diocesan students based on need.

All donations will be managed through the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund.

100% of those funds will be available to our school the following tax year to be used for scholarships for our students.

To donate online, click the Donate link below (type St. Brigid of Kildare School in the text box if you would like your donation to go to St. Brigid School).

Gifts of Gratitude - Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Get ahead on your Christmas gift giving this year!

Make your life easier by checking one thing off your Christmas gift list! Donate to Gifts of Gratitude! Home & School has provided you with a convenient way to show your appreciation to the teachers and staff at St. Brigid during Christmas and at the end of the year.

What is it?

Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?

This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child’s life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use–whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family’s expenses.

Will my family be recognized for participating?

Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?

The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!

Can't remember if you already contributed?

No worries -- just contact Ashley Jones at [email protected] and she will let you know!

You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.

St. Charles Drama Dept Presents: The Book of Will

The Book of Will

The St. Charles Preparatory School Drama Department is proud to announce its fall production, The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson. The Book of Will will be presented November 17 - 19 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Campus Theatre. Adult tickets are $10 each, and student tickets are $5 each.

Saint Brigid of Kildare alumni in the performance include Thomas Matthews, Bobby McMillan and Annie O'Connor.

THE STORY: Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without Henry Condell and John Heminges, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! After the death of their friend and mentor, the two actors are determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. They’ll just have to borrow, beg, and band together to get it done. Amidst the noise and color of Elizabethan London, The Book of Will finds an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know.
