Our second graders sharing their turkeys in disguise | |
Dear Parents,
During this week of Thanksgiving we have much to be grateful for: our faith, our health, our families, our school and for each other! Together we have accomplished so much already this year! More than ever, I am especially thankful and proud of our school community. Our theme for the year: Working together as ONE: serving God, Our School and Our Community, has truly been taken to heart in so many ways. You may have noticed our older students accompanying their young buddies to Mass and using this opportunity to model appropriate behavior while making strong positive, caring connections to strengthen our community. Our 8th grade service, leadership and social committees have been working together to plan events not only for the 8th grade, but also for the whole school. Teachers have been working together to study our new religion course of study and to share ideas and resources for authentic problem-based learning. We have our parents partnering with teachers to benefit the academic, faith and social emotional growth of our children. In addition, we have had many different prayer chain opportunities to support members of the school community. The list is endless.
During this time of Thanksgiving, I would also like to take a moment to formally acknowledge the School Advisory Committee (SAC), the Home and School Association, SPICE and our Athletic Association, all of whom work diligently to advise, generate funds and organize volunteers to provide many wonderful programs, activities and opportunities for our students and staff.
In closing, let us join together in thanking God for the many blessings He has bestowed on our school and parish. Enjoy this wonderful week of fun, traditions and Thanksgiving celebrations with your family.
Thanksgiving blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Thank you to all the parents that support the Annual Fund! One of the many items that your donations support is teacher and staff appreciation. The Home and School committee does an amazing job preparing lunches, coffee bars, and snacks for our hardworking St. Brigid of Kildare school staff. These rewards are a wonderful way to thank the dedicated individuals that work with our children. We are so blessed to have your support. Thank you for making us feel appreciated.
Below are a few photos of the Home and School Committees' work.

Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund: New Ohio Tax Credit Program |
This weekend at Mass, we spoke about a new state program that allows donors to receive a tax credit on their Ohio tax return up to $750 ($1,500 if married and filing jointly).
In 2021 the State of Ohio created a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Program. This program allows Ohio taxpayers to donate to a K-12 SGO for that school to use for scholarships for tuition based on financial need. The donor then receives a dollar-for-dollar non-refundable tax credit on their Ohio state tax return up to $750 ($1,500 if married and filing jointly). This is in addition to a federal tax deduction you are always able to take.
The Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund (under the Diocesan Education Corporation) is certified as an SGO by the Ohio Attorney General. This fund solely benefits students in the Diocese of Columbus Catholic Schools.
Parishioners, family, and friends of St. Brigid of Kildare can donate and directly designate St. Brigid of Kildare School as the recipient of their donation. If you choose not to designate a school, the money will be used in a general fund for financial aid for diocesan students based on need.
All donations will be managed through the Emmaus Road Scholarship Fund.
100% of those funds will be available to our school the following tax year to be used for scholarships for our students.
To donate online, click the Donate link below (type St. Brigid of Kildare School in the text box if you would like your donation to go to St. Brigid School).
