Advent Prayer Service (12:45 pm)
Early Release (1:30 pm)

Dear Parents,

This coming Sunday we begin a new liturgical year with a special time of prayer and preparation with the season of Advent.  Advent is a time to prepare our hearts and souls to celebrate the birthday of the Messiah. One way to spend time in prayer and preparation as a family is to attend the Taize prayer service on December 11th at 6:30 pm.  Last year we encouraged our families to come and experience for the first time this reflective, peaceful one hour prayer service. Many families attended and found this to be an extraordinary prayer expereince.  The church is transformed for this service with lighting, candles and a welcoming and meditative environment. Please come as a family and spend a restful and prayerful hour in the presence of the Lord with our parish family.

For families with children in grades 4 - 8 we are continuing our focus on strengths by taking a "Positive Perspective".  Parents will be receiving a "Home Connection" worksheet in this week's Friday Folder. We will be asking you to use the Strengths Explorer Parent Handbook to generate a list of positive words describing your child and then send a list back to school to share on our positivity board.  We truly appreciate the opportunity to connect our work in school with discussions and learning opportunities at home!

Advent Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

After-School Study Tables
Sign Up Link Below

Through the support of our SPiCE program, Saint Brigid of Kildare School is able to offer a study tables program for students in grades 5-8. The focus of these study tables will be for students to work on executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and study strategies, as well as giving children time to receive support with homework.

The study tables are held in the school from 3-4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year. Mrs. DeLucia, along with other staff members, supervise the program to ensure a quiet learning environment and give support as needed.

Have you contributed to Gifts of Gratitude?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child's life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use--whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family's expenses.

Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes -- the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this
program.  You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking "G.O.G" inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!

Questions or can't remember if you've given yet for this year?
Contact Jen Lynch at [email protected] or Beth Mooney at [email protected].
