November 8, 2017

Dear Parents,

First quarter report cards and discipleship rubrics will be arriving via email around noon today.  Please contact your child's teacher if  you do not receive the email.

Parents of students in grades 3 - 8 will be receiving permission slips  in the Friday folders for our field trip to see the movie WONDER.  Please sign and send back to the homeroom teacher no later than November 15th.  Please note that students will receive a popcorn and icee treat upon their return from the movie.  These treats are being provided to the whole school as a thank you from the SchoolKidz Supply Company.  They have sent us a partial refund as a thank you for dealing with the inconveniences of this year's school supply sale.

Congratulations to Mrs. Allie Wing, our Director of Marketing, on the birth of Brooks Daniel on November 7th.  Allie will be home with Brooks until after Christmas. During this time period, if you have a submission for the Wolfhond Wednesday please send it to Mr. Chris Mazon at [email protected] .

Keep in your prayers all of our service men and women as we celebrate Veteran's Day this week-end.

Sincerely,
Kathleen O'Reilly

Harvest of Hope and EPIC

The Dublin Food Pantry is now preparing for its annual Harvest of Hope. This will provide about 350 families with all of the traditional fare necessary for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.

This year parishioners can participate in one of two ways:

Option One: Provide an entire Thanksgiving dinner
The EPIC Middle School Youth Group invites parishioners to donate the ingredients for an entire Thanksgiving meal (no cooking is necessary) for a family in need. The food will be delivered directly to the homes of client families of the Food Pantry by EPIC students and parent drivers on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We have arranged with the Food Pantry to deliver about 1/3 of it's meals this year, allowing them to keep more food on their shelves though the winter months. Parishioners would provide everything from the following list in a sturdy box (approximate cost is $50), and should drop the box off at St. Brigid parking lot at  2:30 p.m. on  Sunday, November 19, where students will unload the box from your vehicle and reload it into a parent driver vehicle for immediate delivery. Alternative drop off arrangements can be made. The list includes: Turkey breast (6 lbs), Boxed potatoes, Canned gravy, Boxed stuffing, Canned corn, Canned green beans, Canned cranberries, Assorted fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), Pumpkin pie, Ready Whip and Rolls. If you choose this option, please contact Kim VanHuffel at  kvanhuffel@stbrigidofkildare.org or  614-593-5173

Option Two: Provide boxed potatoes and gravy
If you would prefer to donate on a smaller scale, the St. Brigid Social Action Committee invites parishioners to donate boxed potatoes and gravy for inclusion in the remainder of the Thanksgiving meals provided to client families of the Food Pantry. Collection of the donations will be before and after all Masses on  November 11 & 12. Please deliver the donated food to Hendricks Hall (Immke Room) and place the items in the designated boxes. We will also be collecting personal hygiene items for Gladden House.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
