A group of 8th graders helped 1st graders with a Halloween activity. | |
Dear Parents,
Today you will be receiving 1st quarter report cards and discipleship rubrics. You will be receiving an email around noon with directions for accessing the report cards through your FACTS family portal. Please note that there is not a place to sign off that you have read the report card. FACTS is still working on this feature and we hope to have it available in the future.
Our students and teachers have worked very hard this first quarter and there is much to celebrate! Please keep in mind that both parents and teachers are encouraged to initiate communication any time during the year if there is a student concern or a question. We believe that it is better to address a student concern or clarify a situation in a timely manner rather than wait for a scheduled conference time. You may contact teachers via email or leave a phone message in the school office at 718-5825. Faculty emails can be found using the quick link in the Wolfhound Wednesday or on our website at http://stbrigidofkildare.com/staff/
This week we have been raising awareness of the importance of vocations to religious life by celebrating Vocation Awareness Week. Teaching our students about vocations is a critical part of the mission of Catholic education. Please click on the this link to see some of 8th grade students who attended the Serra Club luncheon at the Josephenium and also kindergarteners dressing as future clergy and religious sisters.
Keep in your prayers all of our service men and women as we celebrate Veterans Day this coming Friday. I am looking for 2 or 3 people who are currently serving or have served in the military that would like to be a guest speaker for just a minute or two via our morning prayer and announcements on Google Meet this coming Friday at 8:10 am. The guest would join the Google Meet from their own location. Please email me if you would like to be a guest speaker or if you know someone who would like to join us. ms.oreilly@stbrigid-school.org
Autumn blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

Gifts of Gratitude - Teacher Appreciation Gifts |
Get ahead on your Christmas gift giving this year!
Make your life easier by checking one thing off your Christmas gift list! Donate to Gifts of Gratitude! Home & School has provided you with a convenient way to show your appreciation to the teachers and staff at St. Brigid during Christmas and at the end of the year.
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child’s life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use–whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family’s expenses.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.
How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!
Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Ashley Jones at ashleypaigejones1@gmail.com and she will let you know!
You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.

St. Charles Drama Dept Presents: The Book of Will |
The Book of Will
The St. Charles Preparatory School Drama Department is proud to announce its fall production, The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson. The Book of Will will be presented November 17 - 19 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Campus Theatre. Adult tickets are $10 each, and student tickets are $5 each.
Saint Brigid of Kildare alumni in the performance include Thomas Matthews, Bobby McMillan and Annie O'Connor.
THE STORY: Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without Henry Condell and John Heminges, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! After the death of their friend and mentor, the two actors are determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. They’ll just have to borrow, beg, and band together to get it done. Amidst the noise and color of Elizabethan London, The Book of Will finds an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know.
