Our eighth graders served our school family a Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday. | |
The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,
During this Thanksgiving week, we have so much to be grateful for: our faith, our health, our families, our school, and one another! Together, we have already accomplished so much this year. I am especially thankful and proud of our wonderful school community.
This coming Sunday marks the start of a new liturgical year as we begin the season of Advent. These four weeks offer a special time for prayer and preparation, as we ready our hearts and souls to celebrate the birth of the Messiah. One meaningful way to observe Advent as a family is by lighting an Advent wreath together each evening before dinner. As a school, we will begin each day with prayer and by lighting a candle on our school’s Advent wreath.
Next week, our 2nd graders will celebrate a significant milestone in their faith journey. On December 7th, these students, supported by their parents, will receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. Please keep our 2nd grade children in your prayers as they prepare for this special moment.
Additionally, our 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will also have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during December. If you would like a resource to help your older child prepare, please click here: Confession Guide
As we reflect on the many blessings God has bestowed upon our school and parish, let us give thanks. May your week be filled with joy, cherished traditions, and meaningful Thanksgiving celebrations with your family and friends.
Thanksgiving blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly
P.S. Your child's report card is now ready to view in FACTS. For instructions on viewing the report card click here.

Gifts of Gratitude - Teacher & Staff Appreciation Gifts
Get ahead on your Christmas gift giving this year!
Make your life easier by checking one thing off your Christmas gift list! Donate to Gifts of Gratitude! Home & School has provided you with a convenient way to show your appreciation to the teachers and staff at St. Brigid during Christmas and at the end of the year.
What is it?
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.
Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child’s life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use–whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family’s expenses.
Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.
How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!
Can't remember if you already contributed?
No worries -- just contact Ana Sotillo (sinramsotillo@gmail.com) or Renee Luis (reneeluis7@gmail.com) and they will let you know!
You can find the link for Gifts of Gratitude at the button below. Choose your donation amount and that's it. It's that easy! It's such a simple way to show appreciation to your child/children's teachers and the staff at St Brigid of Kildare.

Saint Brigid of Kildare School’s After School Study Table program has been running strong for the past couple months. It is now available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:00 PM for all 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
