Sixth grade students were able to show their creativity with their Dot Day creations. They all did a fantastic job! | |
Dear Parents,
By tradition, the Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to a certain devotion. The month of October is dedicated to the Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. October includes the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7). One of the best ways to celebrate the month is by praying the rosary together as a family. In celebration of this month, we are offering an opportunity to pray the rosary together as a school family on Friday, October 7th at 2:00 pm in the gym. Please feel free to join us if your schedule allows.
We are sad to say good-bye to Ms. Amanda Ghiloni, Occupational Therapy Assistant. We wish her all the best and are so excited for her as she ventures to a new position at Denison University. We thank her for her dedication and commitment to the students of St. Brigid!
Mrs. Julie Pleshinger will be joining Mrs. Bouscher at St. Brigid to service occupational therapy needs. Mrs. Pleshinger is a graduate of South Alabama University and has recently moved to Columbus with her husband. We are so excited for Mrs. Pleshinger to join our St. Brigid community!
Enjoy the beautiful fall weather as we continue to work Together as One Serving God, Our School and Our Community.

Annual Fund Supports ALSO Programs |
Did you know that the Annual Fund supports the After School Learning & Service Opportunities (ALSO) Program?
Each year students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to join one of these programs. There is a wide range of topics and subjects offered so there is something for every student. Some of these opportunities include: Yearbook, Bell Choir, Chess Club, Puzzles and Games, Wolfhound Innovation Team, Wolfhound Running Club, Power of the Pen and Pencil. These programs allow students to explore their talents outside of class and offer an opportunity for socialization and personal growth.
One of those offerings is Hobby Club -- a club that engages young people with fun games and collectable miniatures, encouraging them to develop skills and gain confidence through building and painting the models while developing friendships and social skills. As students engage in the hobby, they will read and apply information from complex informational texts, explore mathematical computation and probability, and creatively engage in art and design.
Please consider supporting the Annual Fund so St. Brigid of Kildare can continue to offer these opportunities to our students.

Please remember if you arrive after 8:00 AM, please park your car in a designated spot in the parking lot and walk your student up to the front desk to be admitted. Do NOT park/ stop in the loop in front of the school, as our preschool families will be in the loop for their arrival procedures.

Early Registration Coupon
Early Registration is key to make sure that we have enough coaches to support our teams at all grade levels. Having a group of 9 players that changes in the last week of registration to 16 players means we would need to have 2 teams and in need of at least 2 more coaches last minute. Please help out by registering early so that we can be prepared for practices to start in early November.
Registration deadlines for basketball in 4th - 8th grades will be October 21st.
When you register, please use Coupon Code of "EARLYWINTER22" for your 10% discount. Coupon expires October 1.

Family First Family Service Activity |
Snack Bags for Ronald McDonald House
Family First invites you and your family to join us in providing comfort (in the form of snacks) to families staying at the Ronald McDonald house. You can find detailed information here from the Ronald McDonald house website on how to safely assemble the bags.
This is a great activity for the family and while you assemble discuss how acts of service and being Catholic go hand-in-hand! From the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12), to the Works of Mercy, to the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12) we know Jesus urges us to provide service to others.
Once bags are assembled please drop them in the bin in the collection closet in Hendricks Hall October 1st - October 9th. Any questions, please contact Anna Blouir at ablouir@gmail.com or Sue Adorno at westbrsc@yahoo.com.

Children's Liturgy of the Word |
Children's Liturgy of the Word takes place during the 9 am Mass. Children (non-communed children, preschool through grade 2), may join us in the Church basement to hear the Children's Liturgy of the Word from the Children's Lectionary as well as learn about the readings of the day. Children will be dismissed prior to the First Reading and return after the Homily, during the Presentation of the Gifts.
We require two Shepherds and two volunteers to provide this opportunity for our families. The First Shepherd is the leader of the readings and lesson for the day and the Second Shepherd assists the First. Volunteers help the Shepherds with miscellaneous tasks, but do not teach the lessons. All volunteers (Shepherds and general volunteers) are required to be compliant volunteers in accordance of Safe Environment Policies. Those who sign up will have follow-up communications with the Safe Environment Coordinator as well as the Director of Religious Education.
If you have questions regarding this ministry, please contact the Religious Education Office at 614-761-1176.
