The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

Yesterday was a great day for professional development. Our over 1,200 K - 12 teachers in the Diocese of Columbus gathered together to pray, learn, and commit to a new year of service to the children of the diocese. At the same time this event was taking place, about 120 diocesan preschool teachers gathered in Hendricks Hall for a day of professional development led by our preschool director Hillary Harper. Hillary designed and presented a program on the topic of using children's literature to teach social emotional learning skills (SEL) to our youngest students. Congratulations and thank you to Hillary and the preschool team for their leadership in the diocese.

It was great to see everyone last week at the curriculum nights. If you would like electronic access to the curriculum packets prepared by each teaching team please see the link in the article below.
Curriculum nights provide a great opportunity for parents to meet their child(ren)'s teachers and to learn more about the academic expectations for the coming year. The school-family partnership is integral to the success of each child. Please always feel free to reach out to a teacher if you have a question, observation, family information that might be helpful or a concern. We are here to support each other and to work together to care for and educate our children in a faith filled school and home.

Tomorrow you will receive an email from me regarding the School Annual Fund. This is our one time a year we ask parents (and/or grandparents and family) to contribute a donation which funds all of our school's extra activities. There are many details and graphics included in the email which will show you more about this important fund. I thank you in advance for reading this information and for your participation!

Blessings,
Kathy O'Reilly

After School Study Table for Grades 5 - 8
After School Study Tables are back for students in grade 5 - 8! Study table is a wonderful time for students to have a quiet setting to work on homework, study for an upcoming test, spend some time getting organized, or get help from one of the teacher monitors.

Study tables will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3pm until 4pm. They will begin on September 9th, 2019.

If you would like your child to attend study table, please sign them up using the sign up link below. Also, you must send a change of transportation note for your child's homeroom teacher the day of the study table. In addition, a permission slip outlining the guidelines and expectations will be sent home in your child's Friday Folder this week. Please review this with your child and send the form back in to your child's homeroom teacher. This permission slip must be signed in order for your child to stay for study tables.
