In honor and remembrance of September 11, our 7th and 8th graders participated in a simulation to honor the First Responders and victims of September 11. The Washington Township Fire Department came to our school and gave a presentation on the work of a firefighter in an emergency situation. The students then climbed 2,071 steps by going up and down the bleachers in the gym to commemorate the number of steps the First Responders had to climb in the World Trade Towers. Thank you to the Washington Township Fire Department for their informative visit! | |
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your attendance at last week’s Curriculum Nights. It was so great to see everyone and to hear about all of the wonderful things planned for our students in the year ahead.
Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to be a part of our 7th and 8th graders’ remembrance of the historic events of September 11, 2001. Our students first met with firefighters from Washington Township to learn about the role of first responders in an emergency situation and then participated alongside the firefighters in walking 2,071 steps in our gym that symbolized the rescue efforts of our brave firefighters. The atmosphere in our gym was memorable, as our students demonstrated great respect and interest in learning about this historic event while walking alongside our local firefighters.
The family directory is now available when you login to your FACTS account (district code SBK-OH); it is on the left side menu under School. If any of your information is not correct, please update it in FACTS or reach out to the school at (614) 718-5825.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend our first Crucial Conversation event for the 2023-24 school year. The topic will be Environment Safety. Bruce McKenna, our campus safety and security director, will share with parents our school’s enhanced safety plan using funds from our recent safety grant. We will also be conducting our first school safety drill for the year with students next Wednesday, September 20th. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Bruce McKenna at: bmckenna@stbrigid-school.org
May we continue to Come To The Table: Serving God and Our Community,
September blessings,

Attn St. Brigid School Volunteers: New & Established |
If you are interested in volunteering for the school, or are already an established volunteer, we are asking EVERYONE to go to the link below in order to be verified as a volunteer in good standing. This will enable us to merge our old system (paper records) of established volunteers into our Raptor System, along with welcoming new volunteers.
All requirements to volunteer are still applicable (completion of Protecting God’s Children Session and Fingerprint / Background check etc.) and will be verified with your submission by
our Safe Environment Coordinator.
We are utilizing the Raptor Visitor / Volunteer Management System to screen all volunteers in
our school and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff. Upon entering
the building during school hours, volunteers will be asked to present an ID such as a Driver’s
License to be scanned or manually entered into the system. The Raptor System will check the
volunteer’s name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex
offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the
Raptor system. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the volunteer.
If you have questions about the volunteer requirements or status of your application, please
contact John Denzel (Safe Environment Coordinator) jdenzel@stbrigidofkildare.org or
614.761.3734 ext. 249.
If you have questions about the Raptor System, please contact Bruce McKenna (School Safety
Officer Director) bmckenna@stbrigid-school.org or 614.718.5825 ext. 276.

-
Sisters in Christ - Join a community of women in prayer and study. Wednesdays, 1:15-2:45 PM, Deacon’s Room
-
Wednesday Evening Group - Join other parishioners in this study/small groups. Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM, Berry Room
-
Thursday Morning Group - Join other parishioners in this study/small groups. Thursdays, 10—11:30 AM, Berry Room
-
