SPiCE Awareness Month: Childhood Cancer
Two years ago, SPiCE (Special People in Catholic Education) introduced a series of PowerPoint presentations designed to raise awareness and foster inclusion in our community. These presentations remind us that each person is created in God’s image and is special in their own way.
Our SPiCE program is continuing this feature by highlighting a different awareness theme each month that is chosen with care, focusing on areas that have directly touched the lives of our students and staff. Teachers will use the monthly presentations to guide age-appropriate conversations with students, helping them grow in empathy, understanding, and appreciation of one another’s unique gifts.
For September, our focus is Childhood Cancer Awareness. To show our support, students are invited to participate in a Dress Down Day this Friday by wearing gold, the color of childhood cancer awareness.
We thank you for your continued support of the SPiCE mission as we work together to build a school community rooted in faith, acceptance, and love.

St. Brigid Golf Team Wins Championship
The St. Brigid Golf team, which is comprised of 30 boys & girls grades 6 - 8, has been practicing since the end of June and started playing JV and Varsity matches the last week of July. In addition to the weekly practices, the team participated in three clinics, including one with St. Charles alumni and the Bishop Watterson Girls Varsity team. The team also held a scramble with the St. Brigid clergy in July, and while the golf was rained out, the team and clergy enjoyed pizza and fellowship back in Hendricks Hall.
Our JV team played several intra-squad matches, as well as a few against other JV teams across the diocese. Our Varsity team played six matches, and were undefeated.
Members of the SBK Varsity Golf team participated in the Diocesan Championships on September 13th, along with seven other parishes.
For the third year in a row, the St. Brigid came in 1st place in the team competition! In addition, several 8th grade players took home individual awards:
Boys division:
Dawson Hayes - 2nd place
Girls division:
Katy Durant - 1st place
Zoe Black - 2nd place
Tessa Hoffman - 3rd place
It was a fun day on the golf course! Go Wolfhounds!

Damascus Summer Camp Registration through St. Brigid of Kildare

The hope and the goal of this is to a) give our parishioners an opportunity for our kids to go to camp and encounter Jesus, b) to do it peacefully and not in the rush and chaos of thousands of others signing up, and c) to show our support for our youth and their faith journey.
