The O'Reilly Minute
Dear Parents,

We had a great first day with our A-K students. The building felt like it was going to burst with excitement and joy! We look forward to welcoming our
L - Z students tomorrow morning with the same enthusiasm.

We are very excited to announce that Bishop Brennan and Mr. Adam Dufault, our Superintendent of Schools, will be visiting our school on Friday, September 4th to meet and greet students as they arrive between 7:45 - 8:00 am. Bishop Brennan will also be leading our morning prayer on Google Meets beginning at 8:10 am. All of our A-K students and HOME Learners are invited to pray with our Bishop by joining the Google Meets and using the word “prayer” to enter the meeting.

A few reminders and helpful hints about our new procedures:

During morning drop off, car-rider students must be dropped off along the Enke Hall side of the school.  Students are not to be dropped off in the main parking lot or at the front of the school. Parents may not park in the main lot or in the Enke lot and walk their students to the sidewalk or the crosswalk. If a student is tardy, then the parent will walk the student to the front doors of the school.

For afternoon car-rider pick up, cars of families with A-K last names will be able to enter the Enke parking lot at 2:30 each day. Cars should park so that they are able to pull out instead of backing out of a parking space. This will allow for better visibility and make the exiting procedure move along more quickly.

A few students did break their mask loops today. Please make sure that your child always has a back-up mask in his/her bookbag. If that mask gets used, please be sure to add another back-up mask to your child's bookbag.

Each student should bring his/her own water bottle to school each day. If the student is using a reusable water bottle, any stickers used to decorate the water bottle must be appropriate for our Catholic school.

Thank you for your well wishes, notes, cards, treats and most importantly your prayers! Our re-opening wouldn’t be happening so smoothly without the support of our community and the dedication and talents of our Task Force and all of our teachers and staff.

May the blessings of St. Brigid be with us as we celebrate our 25th year of Catholic education in Dublin….With God We Can!

Blessings,
Kathy O’Reilly

Thank you Knights and Home & School Volunteers!
Thank you to the many volunteers from the Knights of Columbus and our Home & School who came out this Saturday to help prepare the school for opening on Monday! We had many volunteers show up to help with installing desk shields, temporary dividing walls and air purifiers.

Thank you all!
Volunteer with Home & School
The Home & School Association is a parent-run organization with the purpose of enriching the Catholic School experience for Saint Brigid of Kildare students and staff by supporting our school’s mission statement, building a strong sense of community spirit, and expressing appreciation to those committed to our school.

While many events typically planned each year are currently tentative, we are still collecting volunteer sign ups so that if and when these programs and events can return (whether virtually or in their traditional form), we will have volunteers who are interested in helping!

First Home & School Meeting - Wed, Sept 9 at 7 PM via Zoom

Gifts of Gratitude
Gifts of gratitude was established by the Home and School Association as a united effort to provide a generous monetary gift to every school and parish teacher and staff member at Christmas and the end of the year to thank them for all they do for our children.

Why participate?
This is a convenient way for families to make sure that each teacher, aide, and staff member who touches your child’s life is recognized for all they do at St. Brigid. Instead of several small gifts from each student, each teacher and staff member will receive a monetary gift that they choose how to use–whether they want to splurge on themselves or help with their own family’s expenses.

Will my family be recognized for participating?
Yes — the teachers and staff will receive a list of families who participate in this program. You may also let the teachers and staff know that you participated in the program by marking “G.O.G” inside your Christmas card.

How much do I give?
The suggested annual gift amount is $25 per child once a year, however any given amount is graciously accepted!

Family photo opportunities will be available Monday - Friday, August 31st through September 4th, from 3:30-7:00. While waiting your turn, please adhere to the 6 feet physical distancing policy. Please, refrain from taking photos in the morning upon arrival or at dismissal.
Air Purifiers Purchased - Thank You Donors!
We would like to thank the generous families that donated to provide 27 large unit air purifiers that clean 840 SF of air every 30 minutes, and 12 smaller units that clean 500 SF every 30 minutes. These units are medical grade HEPA-13, which clean air much better than regular HEPA filters. These families’ support allows us to provide the highest level of protection for our children as they return to school. We are committed to providing the safest environment for our students -- their health is our top priority. Thank you for your commitment to our children.
Lunch Calendar
The lunch calendar for August and September is available to view on our website here. Please note there is a google calendar option and a printable PDF option for viewing.
