3rd Millenium Classrooms Partnership

As part of the prevention and intervention resources offered by NC, 3rd Millenium gives our students an opportunity to learn about different substances (nicotine, marijuana, alcohol, opioids, etc.) and how these substances work in the body and the harm associated with use at a young age and without a prescription from a medical professional. Usually students participate in this program when a disciplinary referral has been made to administration; however, in the past we have utilized this program as a prevention tool as part of the health class. Along with the substance program, there are other learning opportunities around Respect & Resolving Conflict, Conflict Wise, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. There is also a Parent Wise program. If you are interested in learning more about this program, feel free to contact Jill Royston at (509) 354-6186. Here is a link to the latest Newsletter from 3rd Millenium Classrooms.

Your Monthly 3rd Mil Round Up- October 🎃 (mailchi.mp)

On Thursday, October 26th, from 9:30 – 3:30pm, in our Small Gym here at NC, we will be partnering with Vitalant to run a Blood Drive! There is a great need in our community and surrounding areas for this in hospitals, surgical centers, and emergency treatment facilities. We are trying to get as many students and staff as possible to donate. Here is the link where you can sign up directly. Please stop by the main office or Matt Leonard’s classroom (S10) to pick up the Parent Consent form for students who are 16 or 17. Thank you so much for your participation! Any questions, please email Matt at [email protected].

As of today, we only had 10 people signed up out of 43 slots so we are very much in need. https://donors.vitalant.org/dwp/portal/dwa/appointment/guest/phl/timeSlotsExtr?token=FnQ%2BAVcw9CiySacR95oD34WXbS8IjNvmsaveYDa%2F%2Bg0%3D

Servant Leadership is partnering with KXLY News 4 and helping run Coats for Kids here at NC from Oct 1 - 31. Please consider donating a new or gently used Winter Coat to any of the collection boxes located all around the school! Thank you so much for your help! Great time to go through closets and give back to those in need! We are entering our final stretch and thank you for any help you can provide!

Washington Mental Health Referral Service for Children and Teens

Our program connects children, teens, and families with evidence-supported outpatient mental health services in their community. This free, telephone-based referral service is funded by Washington Healthcare Authority and operated by Seattle Children’s. The Mental Health Referral Service will provide thorough mental health referrals for children and teens 17 and younger from across Washington.

How does it work? Families can call 833-303-5437 or submit an online request form. We will schedule a telephone intake with a Family Advocate Case Manager, who will ask for the patient’s information, including their mental health needs, location, and health insurance plan. After provider matches are found, the Case Manager will call and email the family to access providers or agencies in real-time. The same Case Manager will follow up with the family after a few weeks to ensure an appointment was made, provide any additional resources, and discuss any barriers there may have been. More information about our program, including FAQs, can be found on our website: PAL and WA Mental Health Referral Service for Children and Teens (seattlechildrens.org)

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
