Principal's Message

Hello Wolfpack!

I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a restful and joyous winter break. As we embark on a new year, I wanted to take a moment to extend a warm welcome back to each and every one of our students and their families.

It is always a pleasure to see the energy and enthusiasm that our students bring with them as they return from their winter break. We hope that the time spent with family and friends was filled with moments of joy, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

The strength of the wolf is in the pack.

Tami McCracken

Honoring Retired NC Teacher & Coach - Kelly Walters

WIBCA Highschool Coaches Hall of Fame

From 1998 – 2011, Kelly Walters was the head boy’s Track and Field coach at North Central. Teaming and scheming with the new girl’s head coach, Darren Nelson, they worked to bring the North Central Track and Field programs from the bottom of the Greater Spokane League to one of its top elite teams. They strived hard to build a culture of family, a love and respect for all events and all athletes, and a school pride.

Walters, on the right, coached NC to 4 consecutive state championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, & 2011.

Only 3 other teams had ever won 4 consecutive titles.

Kelly surrounded himself with an amazing crew of qualified coaches that were "passionate about kids." The individual athlete and team excitement grew and grew over the years. Personal records were celebrated after each meet, be it sub-varsity or varsity. Each boy who broke a school or state record had a personalized poster given to him.

Kelly Walters recruited hard from his science classroom, the school halls, and PE classes. Kelly chose student leaders from each event to mentor and be captains. These boys were proud to be chosen and would help recruit, design team shirts, and be good role models.

The spring seasons started with ice breaker such as frisbee football or freeze tag and multiple creative competitions. Freshman got to know upper classmen. Distance runners became friends with sprinters. Bus and van rides were part of the fun with cheers, songs, games, skits and good teasing.

NCHS Yearbook

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
