for the
Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Chaplain's Corner

This week during our Chapel time we were able to break up into our Discussion Groups (by grade and gender) to further unpack what Gabe Norris (our Distinguished Speaker from last week) taught. The questions below are the same questions that our Discussion Groups spent time on this week, and it would be great to hear from your student(s) his/her thoughts on these issues.

As you and your family go about life this week, consider the following questions for conversation:

Read through Mark 4:35-41; Isaiah 41:10

  • “Gabe stated, ‘Fear ain’t funny…fear is a punk, and like a punk, fear follows us around.’ In what ways does fear follow us around?”

  • Gabe explained that fear builds a wall between us and our awesome God and that wall of fear causes us to incorrectly see God and believe things about God that are not true while also causing us to believe things about ourselves that are not true.  "In what ways does fear cause us to incorrectly see God and believe things about God that are not true?"

  • “How does the promise, ‘I am with you’ change your perspective on what you fear the most?”

  • “How does the statement, ‘for I am your God’ change your perspective on what causes you stress?”

  • “How do the promises, ‘I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand’ change your perspective on the rest of today? Tomorrow? Next week? Next year?”

  • “How can I pray for you?”

Thank you so much for continuing in your homes the conversations that we have in our Chapels!

I hope you all have a very restful Spring Break!!!
