We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s peoplethe faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. --Colossians 1:3-6

Spiritual Emphasis Week
Dear Middle and High School Families,

I hope you had a great summer and that your school year has started off as smoothly as possible. I am so excited about the opportunities that we have ahead of us this year. One of the many things that  I love about Prince is our shared focus on a distinctly Christian education. It is out of this shared focus that we pray continually over our students. It is out of this shared focus that we seek to incorporate Christ-like values in every facet of our school’s academic and co-curricular activities. And it is out of this shared focus that  we begin the 2016-2017 school year with a specific Spiritual Emphasis Week,   August 15-18.

Our administrative team feels that allowing each class a day of retreat at an off-campus location will be of great value as we seek to start the school year with a spiritual emphasis.  We have partnered with our teachers and the Athens Y Camp in Tallulah Falls, GA to coordinate a spiritually focused day trip. On these day trips, students and teachers will depart from PACS at 8:30 am, travel to Tallulah Falls, participate in the Athens Y Camp activities, eat lunch at the Athens Y Camp, and arrive back at PACS at 3:00 pm. Your family’s schedule, as well as the co-curricular schedules are very important, so we have done everything in our power to not cause any type of inconvenience to you in that regard.

Cost of the retreat is $30 per student.  This will be billed to your FACTS account on August 19 and is due on September 1.

The schedule for the week is as follows:
  • Monday, Aug.15—Joint Middle/High School Chapel in the PABC Worship Center
  • Tuesday, Aug.16—Middle School to Athens Y Camp
  • Wednesday, Aug.17—9th/10th Grades to Athens Y Camp (Tallulah Falls, GA)
  • Thursday, Aug.18—11th/12th Grades to Athens Y Camp (Tallulah Falls, GA)

On Monday, August 15, the dress code will be Chapel attire. On the day that the student is attending his/her off campus Spiritual Retreat, he/she can dress in spirit attire (shorts are highly recommended and closed-toe lace-up athletic shoes are required). This week will, without a doubt, set the spiritual tone for the entire school year.

I believe that  now is the time that we begin to pray expectantly for God to do great things in the lives of our students over the course of this Spiritual Emphasis Week. When God does great things in the lives of our students, we know that they are then equipped to bring about great change in the world in which they live.

I’m so glad to partner together with each of you!  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Join Parents in Prayer
Nothing is more important at Prince Avenue Christian School than consistently lifting our students, faculty and staff up in prayer.  We are blessed to have a Parents in Prayer group, led by Colleen Brown, who meet every Monday morning to pray for our school family. Please join this group in the Media Center at 8:10 am on Mondays as often as you can to pray with other parents.  The blessing will be both yours and ours!  For more information, contact Colleen Brown at colbrown3130@att.net.
Incidential Charges  Billing and Payment Dates

In response to feedback from our PACS families, there is a new incidental billing and payment schedule for the 2016/17 school year.

This revised schedule was designed to reduce the number of email notifications you receive from FACTS and reduce the number of payment due dates, but still provide timely notification of charges.

New FACTS Billing & Payments:
  • Charges will be posted throughout the two-week billing period to your on-line FACTS account so that families who wish to monitor charges closely can still have access to this information through the FACTS website.
  • FACTS will accumulate the charges for a two-week period and send a combined invoice EVERY OTHER MONDAY EVENING.
  • Typically, there are TWO 2-week invoice cycles which are due on one payment date – the 1st of each month (or next business day if weekend/holiday).
  • Families will have a minimum of 10 days from when an email is sent to when the payment is due.
  • The first regular invoice will go out on Monday, August 22nd and the first payment due date for the 2016/17 school year is September 1, 2016.
  • Click HERE for a link to the full schedule on our website.

Upcoming Charges (those that impact the majority of students – this is NOT a comprehensive listing):

  • Technology / iPad $28.80 per month (Grades 9th – 12th) – Due September 1
