Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable,
if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things.    What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

PACS Families,

This past week in Chapel, we recapped our Fine Arts Mission Trip to Estonia by interviewing 4 of our students who were team members on that trip.

This trip was taken July 14-24 and was centered around a retreat center named Camp Gideon. Camp Gideon is a beautiful story of God’s redemption in that it was originally built to be a Hitler Youth Camp, it then functioned as a Soviet Pioneer Camp following the end of World War II, and now the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being taught and proclaimed from the same stage that hatred, oppression, and indoctrination were once spewed.

Through an interview-style format, Emma Allen, Emilie David, Charlie Graffin, and Riley Wilson talked about their involvement in the overall mission to Estonia, how God used them on the trip, and how God has changed them because of the trip. Teaching English through the arts was the vehicle that God used to deliver His message of hope, deliverance, and salvation…and as we acknowledge that God has blessed each one of us in different ways, we also see that those blessings (giftedness) are to be our vehicles to bring Jesus to our surrounding contexts.

The following are questions that our students, guided by faculty facilitators, discussed within their groups…and would be great conversations within your family:

  • What do you believe that you are really good at?

  • What do are you really passionate about?

  • What are some specific ways that you can merge what you are good at with what you are passionate about in order to bring glory to God with your life?

Please let us know if there are any additional ways that we may be able to serve you and serve alongside you!

While the forecast of rain threatened to dampen the yearly Annual Fund Kick-Off, nothing could dampen the Wolverine Spirit for the 40 th Birthday PRINCE PARTY PALOOZA!
On Monday, over 500 students along with parents and families came to celebrate the 40 th Birthday of Prince Avenue Christian School and to support the school with giving to the 2018-2019 Annual Fund.
Due to weather concerns, the decision was made to bring the party inside. Faculty, staff, and volunteers pulled together to make the necessary adjustments, and fantastic fun was still had by all!
Students enjoyed the super swing, the big pink slide, inflatables of all shapes and sizes, creative face paint, the “Nothing Bundt Cake” Walk, and tunes played by junior Hamilton Culpepper as celebrity DJ. Families enjoyed fun and fellowship as everyone feasted on cotton candy, sno cones, and delicious food from the Chick-fil-A food truck.
The threat of rain resulted in only cloud cover that blessed the crowd with cooler temperatures for this special time. The day was a reminder of the blessing of Prince Avenue Christian School and the joy in supporting such a special place.
If you were not able to make it to the PRINCE PARTY PALOOZA, please consider a donation to the 2018-2019 Annual Fund by clicking the button below.
