Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress,
or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Chaplain's Corner
PACS Families,

This last week in Chapel we were in week 2 of a four-part series in the Book of Jonah. As we continue to remind our students, the Book of Jonah is not about a fish, it is about the Gospel. Jonah chapter 2 recounts the time that Jonah spent inside the belly of the great fish that God appointed to swallow Jonah.

As you are together at home, in the car, or around the table, consider using the following questions within your family to help facilitate further discussions within your home about the conversations that began in our chapel service…

  1. Have you ever gone through a season, situation, or circumstance that made you wonder why God had you there? (EXAMPLE: prolonged season of loneliness, prolonged season of stress, prolonged season of family tension, etc)
  2. Why do you think that it is important to remember that you don’t always get to choose what you go through, but you always get to choose the way you handle what you go through?
  3. Why do you think panic never really helps us? Why do you think pouting never really helps us? Why do you think that prayer always helps us?
  4. Remind your student of the four truths to hold onto in the midst of a “storm”:
  • God has not abandoned you…even when you may feel like it
  • God is always in control…even when life doesn’t make sense
  • God is always good…even when is doesn’t feel like it
  • God is not finished with you…even when you think your world is falling apart
