"Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

Chaplain's Corner
PACS Families,

This last week in Chapel was nothing short of phenomenal! We were joined and led by Jonathan Kilgore and his student praise team from Friendship Christian School in Suwanee, GA.

There are 17 different nationalities that make up the student population of Friendship Christian, and many of those different cultures were represented among their praise team. It really was a beautiful time of celebrating the creativity and artistry of our God and a small sliver of a glimpse of the Kingdom of God.

If your middle or high school student hasn’t talked to you about this past Thursday’s chapel service, be sure to ask him/her as soon as possible!

I will give you one outstanding quote from Thursday:

  • “If the warden of a jail were to make the big announcement that everyone is free, when the doors open up wide, do you think any prisoners would stay in their cell? Only in the church do we have people negotiating with God going back and forth asking if we’re really free or not after Jesus declares our freedom!” (Jonathan Kilgore)

In addition to everything your student tells you about this past week’s Chapel, below are some questions that can be used to facilitate further discussion and conversation within your family that may also give you a clearer understanding of what all went on in Chapel:

  • Jonathan Kilgore made the statement, “Time is the greatest enemy of faith.” and cited that the delay caused Abraham to doubt. How can we guard ourselves against allowing time to erode our faith?

  • When he spoke about the question “Does God answer prayer,” Mr. Kilgore said that how you request something has a lot to do with what response you get back.

  1. What does it mean to ask for something in the name of Jesus?
  2. What does it mean to ask for something in humility?
  3. What does it mean to ask for something so that we can glorify the Son in the answer?
Together,
