For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Chaplain's Corner
PACS Families,

This last week in Chapel was one of great reminders! In our Lower School Chapel, Mrs. Callaway reminded our elementary-age students that there is no better book to read than the Bible. Reading from 1st Kings 18 about the prophet Elijah being used by God to demonstrate His all-powerfulness, Mrs. Callaway talked to our students about the fact that the God we worship and serve today is the same God that worked all those amazing miracles in the Old Testament…He does not change!

Later that morning in the Middle/High School Chapel, we reminded our upper grades of some incredibly unique and impactful opportunities for them to lead other students while growing closer in their walk with God. Through a roundtable-type discussion format, we focused on the Barnabas Program and Chapel Leadership Class and why our High School students should begin considering plugging into one of these opportunities for the 2019 Fall semester.

Below are some questions that can be used to facilitate further discussion and conversation within your family that may also give you a clearer understanding of our Chapel services from this past Wednesday:

  • Why do you think it is important to know that the God we read about in the Bible is the same God we serve and worship today?

  • Why do you think there is such a strong connection between serving/leading others and growing in our personal walk with God?

Together,
Ben Wallis
Director of Spiritual Life

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Jonathan Kilgore realized the potential of his musical gift at the young age of 12. His love for the Creator, coupled with the desire to share his heart through song that encourages the hearts and souls of all people, has propelled Jonathan to become a saxophonist extraordinaire! Jonathan exhibits this passion and unique gift by way of jazzy saxophone performances without compromising the message. He believes that "music has a way of helping, healing and delivering broken hearts and weary souls."

With musical experience spanning more than two decades, this young, astonishing musician's prowess has helped Jonathan to cultivate relationships with both gospel and jazz renowned artists across the US and the world. While Jonathan frequently appears on television and many national conferences and events, he is just as passionate about sharing his music ministry at churches, schools, nursing homes, retirement facilities, prisons, substance rehabilitation centers, and community events. Through his music, Jonathan hopes to ignite the passion that is inside others and encourage them to live their life to the fullest and become passionate about what they are on earth to do and become!
