I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God
while I have being.
May my meditation be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.

Psalm 104:33-34

The 11th Annual Once Upon a Time Spring Gala was a tremendous success!

Tuesday evening, our parents, community partners, and friends gathered together at the Athens Country Club to celebrate Prince Avenue Christian School .

Thank you to all who attended and participated in this joyous event. The silent auction was a buzz of excitement as bidders competed for their favorite items. The amount raised for the event is continuing to climb, but to date we have exceeded our goal and have raised an amazing $70,000!

It was a blessing to hear our Middle School Girls Ensemble perform and to hear personal stories from Rev. Bill Ricketts, Jill Brannen, Josh Pratt, and Elizabeth and Tab Norris. Through laughter and tears, we heard how the ministry of Prince Avenue Christian School has influenced the lives of many families. The story continues. What an incredible night!

The Spring Gala is made possible through the generous donations of these partners:

This week in Chapel we had the honor of hosting “Sounds of Liberty", the praise band from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. “Sounds of Liberty” is completely comprised of college students who have committed to use their gifts and talents to lead others in worship of God. The impact of having these students (not many years removed from middle and high school themselves) leading our students in worship cannot be overstated.

As you and your family go about life this week, consider the following questions for conversation:

CONVERSATIONS STARTERS:

Read through I Corinthians 4:16; I Corinthians 11:1; Psalm 104:31-34

  • “Based on I Cor.4:16 and I Cor.11:1, why do you think Paul told his readers to imitate him?”

  • “Is it important to find other Godly men/women to imitate? Why or why not”

  • “Is there any Godly person in your life right now that you are trying to imitate their life? If so, in what specific ways do they point you to God and what specifically about their life do you want in your life?”

  • “In your own words, how would you describe worship? Although music is a form/outlet of worship, why is worship bigger than music?”

  • “In what ways does music impact and even enhance our worship?

  • “How can I pray for you?”

Thank you so much for continuing in your homes the conversations that we have in our Chapels!

Next week, we have the privilege of hosting our Distinguished Speaker, Gabe Norris. Mr. Norris is the co-founder of Connect Ministries and serves as the Director of WInShape Camps for Communities. We look forward with great anticipation to having Mr. Norris pour into our students…and we would love for you to join us!

So glad to be partnering together with each you!
