Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him,
rooted and built up in him and established in the faith,
just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

PACS Families,

I hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving! As our Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone and our elaborate meals have been converted into leftovers and sandwiches, I wanted to take this opportunity to specifically mention some of the things that we are most thankful for:

  • GOD’S LOVE—To really step back and think about how the God of the universe who is holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere present chose to specifically love us so much that He would send Jesus into this world to die for us when absolutely nothing about us deserves His love is so incredibly humbling…leading to our only appropriate responses: our most devout worship and our deepest gratitude.

  • OUR PARENT CHURCH—Prince Avenue Christian School is a proud ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Often times, for a variety of reasons, the relationship between a parent-church and its school can be challenging and even tense…this is not the case with PABC and PACS! God has blessed the church and the school with a sense of unity and unified mission that truly is uncommon. God has blessed both the church and the school with a phenomenal School Board which represents the church as well as helps provide guidance to the school. And under the leadership of Pastor Josh Smith and the PABC Staff and through the continual provision of God, I have no doubt that the church’s and the school’s brightest days are ahead!

  • OUR PAST LEADERSHIP—We all stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, and a school does not simply wake up one morning and celebrate its 40th Birthday! If Pastor Bill Ricketts had brushed off the call and urging from God to start a school to equip boys and girls into young men and young women who would take the Gospel to their friends, colleges, future families, workplaces, and neighborhoods what we call Prince Avenue Christian School would not exist. If the men and women that Pastor Ricketts initially shared his vision with and invited to join him in fervent prayer over the prospects of opening a school had simply disregarded this endeavor as being too big or too hard, this school would not exist. It is the devotion, faith, and sacrifices of these, as well as former administration, faculty, and staff members, that have made what was once a dream and vision into a school that God has used, is using, and will continue to use to impact generations for His Kingdom.

  • OUR CURRENT LEADERSHIP—God has blessed Prince Avenue Christian School with an incredible leadership team. Piece by piece, God has brought the right men and women into the right positions at exactly the right time. At every layer, whether it be Head of School or Academic Dean or principals or fine arts or athletics or facilities or marketing or the Business Office or the Office of Development, you will find men and women who passionately love Jesus, who passionately love this school, and who are passionate about the future success of the students of this school.

  • OUR FACULTY AND STAFF—All of the faculty and staff members at PACS are here because they loves Jesus, they love this school, they love what they do, and they love their students. All of our faculty and staff members have undoubtedly sacrificed themselves in ways that most of us will never know the specifics of…but, as a school and as an overall culture, we reap the benefits of those collective sacrifices. We are who we are, in large part, because of these incredible men and women who day in and day out teach our kids, serve our kids, and love our kids so well!

  • OUR PARTNERING FAMILIES—Without families to partner with and students to teach, a school is simply an empty shell of hallways, classrooms, and curriculum. It is a vast understatement to say that we are so glad and honored that you have chosen to partner with us! The sacrifices that you make to ensure that your kids are able to join us and become a part of the Prince Family never go unappreciated and are never taken for granted. I believe that we are the best school in this entire area because we are able to partner with some of the best families in this entire area! As we all journey together through these school years, and as we pivot from the mode protecting our kids from the unnecessary dangers and pressures that they would be facing outside the walls of Prince to the mode of preparing them to engage and change an unbelieving culture once they graduate from Prince, we thank you for allowing us to play such a significant part in all that God is doing in your family! So, in the deepest and most sincerest of terms, thank you so much!!!
