“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

Matthew 5:7

Chaplain's Corner
PACS Families,

This past week, we were back in Matthew 5 walking through the Beatitudes of Jesus (Matthew 5:1-16).

On Wednesday, Mr. Akin (high school Bible teacher) led us through Matthew 5:7, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

[READ Matthew 5:1-2,7, Matthew 18:23-34, & Luke 10:29-37]

In your homes, around your tables, and in your traveling, consider the following questions to continue the conversations in your family that have begun in our Chapels…

  • What is the relationship between understanding the mercy that God shows to us and the mercy that we are called to show to other people? Are we to show more mercy or less mercy to people? Why? Why is it hard to show mercy to people?

  • In Jesus’s parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:29-37), which one of the three men in the parable actually showed mercy to the man in need? How do you that man showed mercy? What does that teach us about showing mercy to the people around us?

Please let us know if there are any additional ways that we may be able to serve you and serve alongside you!
