Link Crew leaders are upperclassmen who want to help! Sign up below to come get a tour of the Eastlake building and practice finding your classes before in-person learning resumes on April 19th.

You are still welcome to come get a tour even if you have elected to remain remote for the remainder of the year. Equity at Eastlake

March 31st is Trans Visibility Day. “Rachel Crandall, the head of Transgender Michigan, created this day after recognizing that many media outlets only report on stories of violence experienced by transgender and gender non-conforming people. She hoped to create a day where people could focus on celebrating success and helping transgender people feel empowered.”

This month we already highlighted the important role women have played in athletics as a way to both celebrate those achievements and shed light on the inequality women still face in the athletic field. Today we do the same. While women should be celebrated every day and all day, there are attempts (such as the bills in the article) preventing trans girls from participating in girls' sports. Young girls are among the most vulnerable due to lack of gender affirming resources and increase in discrimination. During Women's History Month, Eastlake continues to affirm that Trans girls are girls and Trans women are women.

Join us in bringing visibility to the joys and triumphs of girls and women

And join us in the fight to bring full gender equality

Finally, as a follow up to our last two segments, we invite everyone to stay in the fight against Anti-Asian Hate. Here is a list of events to get involved.

Asian Cultural Club – Safe Space/Kickoff Meeting - April 16 at 4PM

Hello Wolves! There is a new club at Eastlake called the Asian Cultural Club. Our purpose is to help educate students about the many different Asian cultures in the world. We will learn about their cultural celebrations and how their impacts have helped the world today. In light of recent events against Asian Americans, we would like to create a safe space for people to talk about what's on their mind. We will be having our first meeting in Friday April 16 at 4PM to express feelings and thoughts on these issues, and discuss club direction and how the club can support the Eastlake community. If you would like to join us, head to https://tinyurl.com/ehsACCSignup.
