Eastlake Credo: At Eastlake, through intentional actions, we create an environment where students and staff feel safe, appreciated and loved. This is Eastlake. This is home. This is family.
Dear Wolves,

Thank you for your continued support of Eastlake High School during this tumultuous year. There was no process or precedent to rely on as we pivoted to remote and then concurrent learning. We had to reimagine and rework everything and learn as we went along. We realize that we had some successes and frustrations, but the Eastlake staff did an amazing job under difficult circumstances.
I also know that the Eastlake staff is committed to building Eastlake back stronger than ever. Although we have the people and practices in place, we need to reestablish our school culture as next year only our seniors will have ever completed an entire year at Eastlake High School.

Please enjoy your summer.

Physical on File?

Reminder that to play a sport at Eastlake, you must have a current physical on file in the Athletic office. With the Covid school closures, and the suspension of sports at the middle school level, there are many incoming 9th graders that do not have a current physical. If you are planning on playing a summer sport, please make sure you get a physical this summer!

Need to check the expiration date of your students physical? Log into FinalForms and directly under your students name is the date of expiration.
Hacktable Hackathon 2021
Hacktable is a student-run organization based in the Seattle area working to make STEM education more accessible and fun for everyone. Their goal is to create a platform where students can collaborate with others who share their interests in computer science and STEM. Hackathons are events that span over several days where computer programmers and others involved in software development will work together to develop a project. In November 2020, Hacktable hosted a free, virtual event. It featured a focus on virtual education. They had over 300 participants, from middle schoolers to college students, who worked together to create over 60 distinct projects.

2021-22 College Essay Prompts
Summer is a great time for rising seniors to get started on their college essays. Check out the essay prompts for The Common Application and The Coalition Application. Some schools, like the University of California schools, use their own application portal and essay questions. Some schools, like Washington State University, do not require an essay under most circumstances. Check with your target schools for application requirements and consider finishing the summer with a draft. Look for essay and application support in Fall Wolf Time sessions as well as Senior English classes.

Save the Date--LWSD Financial Aid and Scholarship Night
Wednesday, September 8, 2021, 6:00 pm. This event will be conducted virtually on Teams.

Summer Financial Aid Research
Out-of-pocket costs are an important factor when choosing a college for many. Summer is a great time for families to discuss what is affordable. While doing college research, make sure to check out the Net Price Calculators required on every college website for an estimate of costs. Scrutinize target college websites for merit aid opportunities and create a scholarship profile for outside scholarships on a website like Washboard too.

Scholarship Scams
Never pay to apply for a scholarship or to have access to a scholarship database. Some scams are obvious, others are sneaky. Be wary of offers cloaked in accolades (“Congratulations on your selection for membership in the NSHSS Honor Society”) or exclusive memberships (“Join our membership of high achieving students!) When in doubt, ask Mrs. McGuigan (cmguigan@lwsd.org) in the EHS College and Career Center.

CTE Dual Credit Registration Deadline Extended to June 20th
