Sammamish Community Club is hosting a Flurry of Giving through the week of November 29th through December 3rd. This is a collaboration with Eastside Friends of Seniors (Citizens). The club is gathering items to help Eastside Friends of Senior (citizens) compile their annual holiday baskets.

Hey Eastlake students! Winter is the season of giving back! Eastlake’s annual Winter Wishes is coming up, so be sure to fill out THIS FORM in order to bring some joy to your friends and teachers at Eastlake (and potentially yourself)! The last day to fill out a wish for your friends, teachers or yourself is December 3rd.

Congratulations to all the students who made our Fall Community Service Award list. Check out the list here. Students in all grades with a minimum of 50 hours are featured on the list. Huge thanks to Key Club for tracking the hours and compiling this list for EHS students. The Hour of Code is coming in December. Join this global CS Education Week movement and discover how much fun computer science can be with an exciting hour-long coding activity! If you are interested in learning more about computer science or how to code, sign up for one of Mrs. Klaka’s Wolf Times on December 3rd to try an activity😊. Vote for an activity on this interest form. Everyone is welcome, hope to see you there!

Audition sign ups for the spring musical, Chicago, are posted in B103. Students can sign up before or after school. Auditions will be on January 3^rd with callbacks that week. No previous experience necessary, only the interest to act, sing and dance. Students cast in the production will be enrolled in the after school class, Production Workshop. Library Closed Dec 9th & 10th

The EHS Library will be hosting the Unspoken Truths American History Traveling Museum in December for 11^th grade Humanities classes and some staff who sign up for professional development. On December 9th and 10th only those participating in this event will be able to come into the Library. The Library Staff will have a tech help table outside in the hallway for students who need technology assistance. If students or teachers need books please get them before December 9th and contact Mrs. Story if you have any questions or concerns kastory@lwsd.org

There are only 3 weeks from Thanksgiving until Winter Break! If you are a Senior requiring a counselor letter of recommendation by colleges, please submit the request to your counselor via the application tools such as Common App or Coalition and complete the letter of recommendation form and upload your resume to https://ehs.lwsd.org/counseling/letters-of-recommendation. Counselors will not be working on student college applications or letters over Winter Break. If you have an application deadline in January, you will need to submit the information to your counselor no later than 12/3/21 for processing.

LWSD offers a free SAT/ACT online self-paced preparation program called Methodize which includes detailed checklists, lessons, video explanations, and practice exams. The program is available to 10^th-12^th graders through their Xello account and allows students to build preparation around their schedule. Over 20 hours of preparation (for either the SAT or ACT) can be spread out over 2 days, 2 months, 6 months or even a year. Take the PSAT in the fall, the ACT/SCT in the spring and there is still time to prep for a second ACT/SAT the following fall if students choose to take it again.
