**NOTES FROM THE OFFICE**
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
STUDENT PICK UP DURING THE SCHOOL DAY:
If you need to pick up your student during the day, the main office asks that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student. If you are giving your student permission to walk to an appointment, that must be stated in the note.

Kids Around the World Food Packing Event
LGMS SOUL club, in coordination with Lakeland Church and OneMeal, a program that is a part of Kids Around the World, hosted a meal-packing event, packing 30,000 meals in just over an hour. Over 125 students and staff participated in this event, in which all were smiling and dancing while working together. Positive outreach and service to our community is the goal of the SOUL club, and it was wonderful to see so many feel the joy that comes from helping others!"

Music in Our Schools Month
We concluded our Music In Our Schools Month celebration with a school wide music dress-up day! The kids are so creative! What a fun way to wrap up a great month and head into spring break!
Quarter 3 flew by in Fablab! Our final project combined so many skills into one pretty cool end product. We busted out the drills to make holes for our lights, learned how to properly make electrical circuits, soldered our circuits together, and used laptops and Coreldraw to create acrylic engravings to light up.

After earning 2nd place at the State Competition, Badger Cheer team welcomed the LGMS Dance team to their last practice of the season. The LGMS girls were able to see their competition routines, perform the routine they are working on to perform soon, learn a couple of cheers, do some stunting, and have a little fun. The Cheer team shared tips and experiences, and the girls were able to ask questions about joining Badger Cheer in high school. Thanks to Coach Yeraldine Murillo for welcoming Coach Wade and the LGMS Dance team. A great time was had.

Important: Student Attendance and
New Attendance Procedures
School attendance is very important, and we encourage families to make sure their children are in school as much as possible. However, children who are sick need to stay home for their well-being and to prevent others from becoming sick. Click the link to review the Lake Geneva Schools Protocols for When to Keep Your Child Home From School: https://bit.ly/3Bl6Gl9
Students need to be to school by 7:20am and are to be in their homerooms by the time the bell rings at 7:30am.
Student Attendance and Attendance Procedures
One of the biggest ways parents/guardians can help their child succeed this school year is to make sure their child gets to school, on time, each and every day. The evidence is clear: children with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. Every day counts, and missing school even 10% of the time has a significant negative impact on reading and math achievement as children progress through school. We want to ask for parent’s/guardian’s commitment to making sure their child attends school every day possible this year.
When a child does have to be absent from school, we ask that you communicate with us about the absence BEFORE 9:00AM. When your child will be absent, you have three communication options:
Call Mrs. Kramp in the main office at 262-348-3040 to speak with her and/or leave a message.
REPORT ABSENCES ON POWERSCHOOL OR A PHONE CALL TO THE SCHOOL BY 9:00AM. THANK YOU!
START AND END TIMES FOR LGMS: Students need to be in class when the bell rings at 7:30am. School is dismissed at 2:45pm. Door Q (side door) is locked by 7:29am. Students will need to be dropped off by the main office after that time. Students are allowed 3 tardies per semester.
BREAKFAST: Breakfast is served starting at 7:00 a.m. The cafeteria area is only open to students purchasing breakfast.
STUDENT ABSENCES: When reporting your child out ill, please provide us with a detailed message with the exact symptoms your child is experiencing and how long they have had these symptoms. If your child is out of school due to COVID, please provide specific details including symptoms, if tested, or when they were exposed to a confirmed case of COVID. Thank you. To report an absence please call Mrs. Kramp at 262-348-3040.
STUDENT PICK UP: If you need to pick up your student during the day, we ask that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student. If you are giving your student permission to walk to an appointment, that must be stated in the note.
BUS PASSES: If your student will be riding the bus home with a friend, please send a letter in the morning indicating who he/she will be going home with. We will then issue a bus pass.
LATE BUSES:
Late buses run as follows:
3:30 p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:15 p.m. - Mondays through Thursdays
5:30 p.m. - Mondays through Fridays
LATEX BALLOONS: We have students with latex allergies so please, no latex balloons.
STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP TRAFFIC PATTERN:
Please enter from the southwest end of the loop (closest to the football field). Parking will only be allowed on the curb side. Thank you for being patient during drop off and pick up times. This area gets very busy, and we want to make sure our students are safe.
DRESS CODE REVIEW
Please take a moment to review the Student Dress Code as outlined in the Student Handbook. The handbook is part of every student's agenda.
