STUDENT PICK UP: If you need to pick up your student during the day, we ask that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student.
|
|
Study Lab will take place every Tuesday from 2:55-4:15 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:55-3:30 p.m. Students will be able to stay after with a teacher from their house to get extra support or make up missing work. A late bus will be available.
|

EXTRA CURRICULAR ANNOUNCEMENTS

7/8 BOYS BASKETBALL:
We have our final two in-house league game nights on Monday, November 4th and Thursday, November 7th. We are excited for our first interscholastic game against Phoenix MS on Monday, November 11th. Parents and players should consult the hard copies of the practice/game calendars provided by the coaches for more information. If you need another copy, please email your son's coach or have your son ask for a new one.
DANCE TEAM: Dance Team practice has begun. We will practice every Monday through Thursday until 4:10 PM. Our first performance will be on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 4:10 PM. Please come and cheer us on.
MUSIC STUDENTS: 7th and 8th Grade Band, Orchestra, and Choir students need to remember to wear their full uniform to school on Monday, November 11th. Band: Red Band Shirts, Khaki Pants, ALL Black Shoes/Socks. Choir: Red Choir Polo, Black Pants, ALL Black Shoes/Socks. Orchestra: Black Orchestra Polo, Black Pants, ALL Black Shoes/Socks

The Book Fair is coming to the LGMS LMC! Online shopping is Nov. 2 - Nov. 15, and in-person shopping is Nov. 8, Nov. 11-15, and Nov. 18. Each Language Arts class will be coming to shop one time during the run of the fair. It will be also open to families during Parent Teacher conferences on Nov. 14 and Nov 18 from 3:30-7pm.

Mrs. Ward's 6th Grade students discovering how to create a series and parallel circuit to light a light bulb.

Students in Lake house Math Applications in Science class have been busy investigating the properties of water. They used Bunsen burners to change the temperature of water (tap, ice, and salt). They practiced temperature conversions, compared densities of objects in relation to water, and have practiced building molecules of water using molecular model kits.
|
|
|
|
CHOIR:
The Badger High School Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Roemer, accompanied by Mrs. Berndt, came over and performed two selections from the musical "Hamilton" for the 8th Grade Lake Geneva Middle School Choir. After performing for them, Mr. Roemer and the Vocal Ensemble stayed and mentored the 8th Grade Choir students on a selection that they will perform together at the Winter Concert.

ORCHESTRA:
We had a special guest cellist at our orchestra rehearsal today! A big thank you to
Mike Frazier
for sitting in and playing with the fourth grade cello section. It was a special treat to hear him play a few parts of his favorite cello solos for us at the end!

Miss Sara from the Public Library brought books and cookies to share with the students during their lunch hours. She ran out of cookies. ;-) Miss Sara will be back at LGMS in January. In the meantime, come visit her at the Public Library to see what new books (and new cookies) she has to share with you.

MISCELLANEOUS INFO TO KNOW

BREAKFAST: Breakfast is served starting at 7:00 a.m. The cafeteria area is only open to students purchasing breakfast.

BUS PASSES: If your student will be riding the bus home with a friend, please send a letter in the morning indicating who he/she will be going home with. We will then issue a bus pass.
LATE BUSES - NEW THIS YEAR:
Late buses run as follows:
3:30 p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:15 p.m. - Mondays through Thursdays
5:30 p.m. - Mondays through Fridays
LATEX BALLOONS: We have students with latex allergies so please, no latex balloons.
WATER BOTTLES: Students are allowed to have water bottles during the school day - WATER ONLY. Please, no other liquids.

Chromebook Care
Parents and Students: While we understand that accidents happen, it is important that students do their best to properly care for their chromebook. Should something happen to the chromebook, students should complete a Chromebook Repair Request form and take it, along with their chromebook, to the LMC.
