STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES!
We have made some changes to the area where students are dropped off and picked up to make the area safer for our students. The lane used will now have one way traffic. You will only be able to enter from the south end of the loop (closest to the football field). In addition, parking will only be allowed on the curb side. Thank you for being patient during this time. This area gets very busy and we want to make sure our students are safe.

STUDENT PICK UP: If you need to pick up your student during the day, we ask that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student.
|

Study Lab will take place every Tuesday from 2:55-4:15 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:55-3:30 p.m. Students will be able to stay after with a teacher from their house to get extra support or make up missing work. A late bus will be available.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ANNOUNCEMENTS
|
|
DANCE:
Dance Team sign up started Monday, October 14. Dance Team is open to all 6-8 grade students. To be eligible you must have a current physical on file and concussion form. The first practice will begin on Monday, October 28. To sign up you must be available to practice Monday through Friday until 4 PM. Please see Mrs.K. Hubbard or Mrs. Wade if you have any questions.
YOUTH YOGA:
If you are interested in learning how to manage stress, anxiety, or just relax through yoga poses, see Mrs. Zorich in room 512, Delta House for details. Youth Yoga will be starting on Thursday, October 24th. Sessions will be held every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:00 pm to 4:00.

Wednesday morning the Lake Geneva Middle School Counseling Department had the distinct honor of celebrating 70 outstanding students at our Above & Beyond Ceremony. This prestigious award is designed to showcase our outstanding students that go above and beyond our everyday expectations. Our award winners have displayed qualities such as overcoming challenges, exceeding typical performance, displaying perseverance, consistently staying positive, and supporting others. Congratulations to all the amazing students we have here at Lake Geneva Middle School.

Seventh grade science students observed characteristics of three types of invertebrates in the lab this week; sponges, cnidarians, and worms.
|
|
|
|
8th grade science students explore dry ice activities as part of our unit in matter. We observed the dry ice sublimating (changing from a solid to a gas).
|
|
CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES STRONG
|
|
The LGMS Cross Country team finished 3rd out of the 13 schools at Burlington Invite. The top finishers were Calvin Anderson, Aaron Priester, Alex Cornue, Zach Walton, Brock Walser, Uriah Ochoa, Ella Coltman, Rose Peters, Ava Weber, Kennedy Monge, Jasmine Meneces, and Lizzy Mechi. Great job kids! On Tuesday, they had a party to celebrate their successful season! Mrs. Pulokas and Mrs. Pettijohn are very pleased with the team's performance this season and are looking forward to next year. Way to go LGMS!

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION

MISCELLANEOUS INFO TO KNOW

BREAKFAST: Breakfast is served starting at 7:00 a.m. The cafeteria area is only open to students purchasing breakfast.

BUS PASSES: If your student will be riding the bus home with a friend, please send a letter in the morning indicating who he/she will be going home with. We will then issue a bus pass.
LATE BUSES - NEW THIS YEAR:
Late buses run as follows:
3:30 p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:15 p.m. - Mondays through Thursdays
5:30 p.m. - Mondays through Fridays
LATEX BALLOONS: We have students with latex allergies so please, no latex balloons.
WATER BOTTLES: Students are allowed to have water bottles during the school day - WATER ONLY. Please, no other liquids.

Chromebook Care
Parents and Students: While we understand that accidents happen, it is important that students do their best to properly care for their chromebook. Should something happen to the chromebook, students should complete a Chromebook Repair Request form and take it, along with their chromebook, to the LMC.
