Study Lab will take place every Tuesday from 2:55-4:15 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:55-3:30 p.m. Students will be able to stay after with a teacher from their house to get extra support or make up missing work. A late bus will be available.

SOUL CLUB
:

ROCKS CLUB:
LGMS Rocks Club is starting on Wednesday, March 4th. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student interested is invited to see Mrs. Pettijohn to get permission slips with details. Permission slips are also available in the main office. To order LGMS Rocks apparel, click this link:

7th GRADE RESPONSIBILITY CHALLENGE:
Seventh graders have started their spring responsibility challenge! Over the course of six weeks, they can earn a movie day (here at LGMS) by being responsible. The challenge goes until March 20, and the movie day will be April 20.
DANCE TEAM:
We will be performing on Monday, February 24th, Monday, March 2nd and Thursday, March 5th. There will be no practice other than performance nights. Please be in the gym by 4 PM to cheer us on.
STOCK MARKET CLUB:
It's not too late to sign up for Stock Market Club. Our first meeting is Tuesday, February 25th. See Mr. Booth for a permission slip and details.
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
7th and 8th grade girls basketball will continue with practices and games these two weeks. Please see your daughter's practice and games calendar for details.

Yearbook is looking for photos! Do you have photos of your Lake Geneva Middle School student you'd like to share with the Yearbook staff? Our photographers can’t be everywhere and we are looking for photos of student sports, concerts, events, and more! Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have. You can submit photos directly to the Yearbook staff using the link below or downloading the ReplayIt App. You will be directed to register for the app. The yearbook staff will review all photos and determine final yearbook content. We cannot guarantee that all submissions will be used.

Vaping is still a major issue with youth and adolescents in our community.
Great work to Officer Greetham who recently conducted an anti-vape presentation to 6th-8th graders at Lake Geneva Middle School! Officer Greetham worked with Principal Grant Strobel and Francis Thomas from Walworth County Public Health.
The City of Lake Geneva Police Department is sponsoring an anti-vape poster contest and awarding each winner with a gift card. Pictured left to right: Principal Strobel, Officer Greetham and Francis Thomas.
Ask your student about what they learned in the presentation and about the "Anti-Vape Poster" contest.

CONGRATULATIONS MATH PARTICIPANTS!
Lake Geneva Middle School students attended the regional Math 24 meet today. Congratulations to 6th graders Emma, Olivia, and Juliet and 7th graders Jonathon, Logan, and Cohen on representing Lake Geneva very well. Special congratulations go too 6th grader Olivia who placed 3rd overall!

February is American Heart Month and 7th grade Lake house students learned about the heart on Valentine's Day! We examined a deer's heart and a squirrel's heart. We also examined a sheep's brain.
|
|
LGMS students are preparing to lead the way in medical careers. A special thank you to Mrs. Sally Gerson (Registered Nurse with the Aurora Outreach Program) for sharing her knowledge with our 7th grade students. Today, Lake house students learned the acronym B.E. F.A.S.T for warning signs of stroke, practiced using blood pressure monitors, discussed lifestyle choices for a healthy future, and compared the numerous medical career opportunities.

MISCELLANEOUS INFO TO KNOW
|
|
BREAKFAST: Breakfast is served starting at 7:00 a.m. The cafeteria area is only open to students purchasing breakfast.
STUDENT PICK UP: If you need to pick up your student during the day, we ask that you please send a note with your student in the morning with a time that you will be picking them up. That way we can write them a pass to hand to their teacher when it's time to leave. This avoids having to disrupt classes by calling in looking for a student.
BUS PASSES: If your student will be riding the bus home with a friend, please send a letter in the morning indicating who he/she will be going home with. We will then issue a bus pass.
LATE BUSES - NEW THIS YEAR:
Late buses run as follows:
3:30 p.m. - Tuesdays and Thursdays
4:15 p.m. - Mondays through Thursdays
5:30 p.m. - Mondays through Fridays
LATEX BALLOONS: We have students with latex allergies so please, no latex balloons.
WATER BOTTLES: Students are allowed to have water bottles during the school day - WATER ONLY. Please, no other liquids.

Chromebook Care
Parents and Students: While we understand that accidents happen, it is important that students do their best to properly care for their chromebook. Should something happen to the chromebook, students should complete a Chromebook Repair Request form and take it, along with their chromebook, to the LMC.
|
|

The 2020-2021 regular Public School Open Enrollment application period is February 3, 2020 - April 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.
Through the open enrollment process, students outside the district boundaries can come to learn with us. If you live outside of the Lake Geneva Joint #1 Elementary School District or the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District and are interested in learning more about our fine academic and co-curricular programs plus our premiere facilities, call 262-348-1000!
