women build updates

Women Build is right around the corner! Thanks to all of your incredible hard work, we are more than halfway towards our goal of $175,000. We are so excited to get to work and empower women to address the housing crisis in San Diego County.
We'd like to give a special shout-out to Nexus Physical Therapy for all of their help with Women Build! They have graciously contributed their expertise to our event to help relax and motivate our builders. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff works hard to provide each of their patients with one-on-one consultation and rehabilitation. With 7 locations across San Diego County, Nexus Physical Therapy is a proud member of the community and we can't thank them enough!

Another special shout-out goes to San Diego Catering Company ! They are incredible supporters of San Diego Habitat and Women Build, donating meals to keep everyone fueled on the job site. San Diego Catering Company is family owned and has provided full-service catering, excellent meals, and quality service to San Diego County for over a decade. Contact them for all your catering needs!

ballantyne street construction update

We're making progress on Ballantyne Street! Our latest development is the future site of five affordable homes in the City of El Cajon. With your help, we'll be able to build strength, stability, and self-reliance for families in San Diego.

Habitat’s unique program partners with hardworking families and offers a hand up, not a hand out. Families are given the opportunity to own a simple, decent and affordable home of their own with a 0%-interest mortgage. Interested in applying for a Habitat home? Click the link below and sign up to be notified when our next homeownership orientation is scheduled.
volunteer with san diego habitat

We need your help to make the vision of affordable housing a reality for hardworking families in San Diego County. You can help us by volunteering in the following ways - help build or rehabilitate a home at a construction site, coordinate a group build day, volunteer in the ReStore, or assist with office needs and administrative duties.

Become a Regular volunteer for added benefits! These include:

  • Coming out to the build site twice a month
  • Learning construction skills
  • Meeting different groups of people
  • Working alongside our experienced Regulars and future Habitat homeowners
  • Making a lasting impact on the community

uss midway foundation grant
1.
The USS Midway Foundation awarded San Diego Habitat a $20,000 grant to fund our Veteran Repair program. This initiative helps veterans thrive by creating healthier, safer homes through critical repairs and improvements. Our program assists with fixes from electrical, caulking, and weather stripping to installing wheelchair ramps and remodeling bathrooms to be more easily used by veterans with disabilities. This generous grant helps us enable veterans to remain in their houses, raise healthy families, and age-in-place safely.
