Women In Construction New Mexico

Newsletter

Dear Members,

In 2019, I was invited to my first Women in Construction event. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was immediately blown away by the acceptance, encouragement, and support I received. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of this incredible organization, and I became a member shortly after.

In 2020, I joined the Philanthropy Committee because I have always loved being involved in our community. Through our partnerships with Safe House, Barrett House, Cuidando Los Niños, Locker #505, and Pursonalities, we have been able to give back through volunteering our time, sharing resources, and supporting those in need. Seeing the impact we can make together has been truly inspiring.

I have also had the opportunity to serve on the Marketing Committee, which has allowed me to further connect with our members and help share the mission of our organization. I am excited to see what is ahead for Women in Construction and the continued growth of our community.

I encourage everyone to become involved in any way they can. Whether through volunteering, joining a committee, or attending events, your participation helps strengthen our organization and the community we serve. I have seen firsthand what we can accomplish when we come together, and I look forward to all we will continue to achieve together.

With appreciation,

Sharon Montoya

Construction Safety Week Dates: May 4–8, 2026

Women in Construction understand that safety is more than a policy — it’s a responsibility, a mindset, and a commitment to every person on the jobsite. From proper planning and communication to PPE, hazard awareness, and teamwork, safety plays a critical role in everything we do.

As we recognize Construction Safety Week, we also recognize the women helping create safer jobsites, stronger teams, and a culture where everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

Together, we continue to break barriers, build communities, and lead with safety first.
